Romance of Rio: gymnast David Belyavsky proposed to his girlfriend after a medal at the Olympics. After the victory in Rio, the Russian gymnast proposed to his beloved! David Belyavsky gymnastics

Love is like a dream. Sleep in a hot, overflowing with emotions and sports excitement of Rio. First, the 24-year-old Yekaterinburg gymnast David Belyavsky won the heart of his beloved girl Maria Mikhailova, and then - a silver medal in the team all-around. Of course, the Olympic medalist dedicated his victory to his most devoted fan. So in Brazil, the two most cherished dreams of the Urals came true. Of course, Masha could not refuse her beloved. Of course, she answered the champion "Yes!".

I never put pressure on David and I didn’t talk about it myself. And it was a very big surprise for me that this happened at the Olympics. Of course, this event will be remembered for a lifetime, because two very vivid memories will be associated with Rio. Our two dreams are now the dreams of our family. It all happened after the awarding of our gymnasts. Unfortunately, we were not able to see each other in the arena. I went to the Olympic village to congratulate David. He played the whole scene with the guys on the team. And then he got down on his knee and proposed to me, - the happy bride told Komsomolskaya Pravda in Yekaterinburg.

Now Masha has a gold ring with a diamond on her finger, but the girl does not think about how soon the wedding will be. For her, the main thing now is that her beloved is not distracted from training and performs successfully. Masha literally flew to David on wings. Wings of love. A 25-hour flight between Russia and Brazil is not a hindrance to happiness. Now Maria, together with a friend of David, rents a two-room apartment in the capital of Brazil. She hardly saw her fiancé all this time: the athletes have a routine. But the main thing for a girl is the opportunity to support her soul mate.

I am very glad to be here, emotions are overflowing. We cried with the guys when we saw that they were second. This is because no one believed in their medal. Even though I knew it would be. I just didn't know which one. I believed in David, so I came and shared his happiness with him, what he had been going to all his life, - Masha rejoices for our team.

The couple have been together for over four and a half years. The guys met quite unusually. Maria, who at that time lived in Novosibirsk, watched competitions in artistic gymnastics and immediately noticed a handsome guy. The girl was not at a loss and wrote to the gymnast in social networks, a friendly correspondence ensued. A month later, the lovers saw each other and have not parted since. Neither long separations nor long distances became an obstacle to their love.

The first year of the relationship, Maria lived in Novosibirsk, and David was torn between Yekaterinburg and Moscow. But for three and a half years now, the guys have been building a family nest in the Ural capital. David bought an apartment here, and Masha was engaged in its design. And the girl also manages to communicate with the fans of the gymnast: she maintains a page of the Belyavsky fan club in social networks. Masha also has her own small business. Just the other day, her manicure studio opened.

Until we discussed the wedding. There was simply no time to sit down and talk. I am not distracting David from the competition now, so that he prepares as expected. We are going on vacation after the Olympics and it is there that we will discuss how we will plan the celebration. We must decide how it will take place, in what format. Will it be an event for the two of us or will we have a big wedding. But we are more inclined that it will be something personal, - Masha said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.

A native of Votkinsk, gymnast David Belyavsky has been in the Olympic Village of Rio de Janeiro for 8 days. He arrived there with the national team on July 25 and has already passed the acclimatization period.

I thought it would be hotter here, because the climate is different. But everything turned out to be tolerable, in the evenings we even go in a sports jacket, - says the athlete. - We are still getting used to it here, we train 2 times a day, we managed to go on an excursion to the statue of Christ and to the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.

At the age of 14, he left for Yekaterinburg to build a career

As a child, David was very restless, and grandmother Lyudmila Viktorovna, who raised him, sent the boy to gymnastics.

He was spinning, spinning, he could not watch TV calmly, he was restless. He climbed the walls, stripped everything in the house. I decided: that's enough, I'll send it to the gymnastics section, - says my grandmother.

David left at eight in the morning and returned home at the seventh hour. But constant training did not interfere with study.

At school, at meetings, he was always set as an example: “Here, go and ask how David manages to train, study and get good grades.” He was an excellent student. In addition to studying and sleeping, he didn’t need anything else, ”the grandmother says.

By the way, at that time Belyavsky was equal to the 4-time Olympic champion Alexei Nemov, he wanted how he would win and win.

But in Votkinsk, athletes went to competitions at their own expense. And in the family of David, it was difficult with finances. And when David was 14 years old, coach Sergei Zakirov offered to leave for Yekaterinburg.

- When I took him little to Yekaterinburg, there was a lump in my throat, I wanted to cry. David asked: “Grandma, I won’t have friends there, why are we going to this city?”. I consoled him, reassured him as best I could. Then he quickly became friends with the boys, they lived as one family. I came twice a year, - recalls Lyudmila Viktorovna.

The result met expectations. At the age of 16, David, as part of the junior team of Russia, becomes the silver medalist of the European Championship. In London in 2012, at the Olympic Games, as part of a team, he goes to the finals and takes 6th place, in the absolute championship 5, on horseback - 7.

"Rings are not mine"

- I'm doing well with floor exercises - in this form I constantly get to the finals at the European Championships. In the past - the second was, now became the fourth. “Horse” has recently begun to turn out well, so in Bern I managed to become second on this projectile. But the rings are more difficult. First of all, in terms of physical fitness. There it is necessary to do static elements. That's not mine. Jump - with a good base it goes well, the main thing is to do everything, a big plus for the all-around. On the uneven bars, I have now raised my basic mark, this is one of my strongest snards, - Belyavsky admitted in an interview with the portal.

Also to Rio, the athlete lifted the basic elements on the uneven bars. If earlier preparation allowed to go to the final, now we can hope for awards.

The main competitors of the men's gymnastics team are the Japanese. Six-time Olympic champion Kohei Uchimura consistently shows good performance in all apparatuses.

BY THE WAY

Belyavsky and his girlfriend opened a beauty salon

For 4.5 years, Belyavsky meets with Maria Mikhailova, who moved to him from Novosibirsk to Yekaterinburg. This year, the couple decided to go into business and opened a beauty salon.

We have been wanting something for a very long time. Of course, we have no experience in business, we study everything in the process, - Maria admitted. - We mainly have a nail studio, but there is a master for eyebrows, eyelashes and make-up, braids have recently begun to weave. Things are going uphill. I myself work as a master - I draw beautiful designs, almost paintings on nails. I think that at the start it is very important to leave customers satisfied in everything, and no one will work for you as hard as you! There are plans to open a second salon.

Maria herself was engaged in interior design of the salon. He says it has become a new home for teddy bears that David brings from all over the world.

We decided to create a cozy corner where people wear slippers and treat themselves to delicious coffee or lemonade. We started with wallpaper with bears and panels, - says the girl. - Our salon has become a home for bears, the collection is constantly replenished, now there are about 40 of them already. We do not give them names, since they are all foreigners - we distinguish them by nationality. The very first bear came from the last Olympics.

By the way, on August 6, the girl flies to Rio - she will support her athlete. He says it's important to David. Plus, they rarely see each other.

He comes home once a month for about a week. For 4.5 years I have already got used to always waiting for and meeting him, the relationship is only brighter from this. While he is gone, I immerse myself in work and training, we are always online for each other, we solve all issues in the same way as if we were nearby! Fans are no longer afraid. I am confident in him, and his attitude towards me, with trepidation so far, does not give me doubt!

The couple has not spoken about the wedding yet. Although, Maria admits that they have been living as a family for a long time.

David Belyavsky- Russian gymnast, Honored Master of Sports. Born in Votkinsk (Udmurtia) on February 23, 1992, a pupil of the Lokomotiv Youth Sports School (Yekaterinburg). Multiple champion of Russia, absolute champion of Europe. 4 medals won at the XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan, including one of the highest standard in the team championship. He was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the President of the Russian Federation for high sports achievements. Winner of the 1st European Games 2015 in Baku. The inscription on the left hand Desipere in Loco is a quote from the "Ode" by Quintus Horace Flaccus. Translated, it means "Go crazy when it's appropriate." Participant of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Education - higher, UralGUFK. He continues his studies at the magistracy in St. Petersburg.

Grandmother of the gymnast of the Russian national team David Belyavsky: “After a month of classes at the sports school, David won his first “gold”

- No, we communicate via Skype. David became friends with Emin Garibov.

What else does David enjoy besides gymnastics?

He doesn't have time for anything. I once asked: “David, what are you doing there at the base? Maybe go skiing? He immediately: “What skis? We have a plan for both winter and summer. I just now realized how tired they are, why they need to rest before the evening workout.

- Professional sport is a difficult and dangerous thing...

- You know, David can tell the coach that he is not ready to do some element yet. If he is not confident in his abilities, then he will not be taken. David told how they are forced to do something. But he doesn’t say anything: “Let them at least punish me, I won’t do it.” He feels his strength, what he can and what he cannot.

David knows how to deal with emotions?

“If he is not confident in his abilities, then he will not be taken.”

- When David just started performing, on the eve of the competition in Yekaterinburg, his Russian passport was stolen from him. He went home to Votkinsk three times to restore documents. And he was noticeably nervous at the competitions. I then asked: “Maybe we came in vain? Were you interrupted? You tried very hard, but on one projectile you collapsed, you made mistakes.” He says, “I don't care if anyone looks at me or not. I go out and do everything right, but that's how it happened this time. Everyone trained, and I dealt with the documents, I had to work. David has been performing since the third grade, he is used to the audience. At competitions, he withdraws into himself, does not perceive anything.

– Do you think David is still at the beginning of his stellar journey?

- He still has to go through three Olympics. David's coach, who used to take him to competitions for his own money, confirmed that it's normal to compete at thirty-two. If now in London they didn’t take a medal, then they will take it another time. I warned him right away that it would be difficult. This is not a team game, not football or hockey. Here you alone are responsible for everything, as you do, so be it.

David Belyavsky is one of the few in the world who can compete with Japanese gymnasts.

We recorded an interview with David Belyavsky in a beauty salon. No, the strongest gymnast of Russia and the absolute champion of Europe was not here to fix his stylish hairstyle. This salon is the business of David and his girlfriend Maria. Coincidentally, on the day when we made an appointment, the guys gathered with a narrow circle of friends to celebrate the opening.

A week ago, at the European Championships in Bern, the Yekaterinburger won three medals in individual competitions (gold, silver and bronze), and also won the team all-around together with the Russian team.

Having tasted a festive lemonade salon together with the hospitable owners, we talked with the future participant of the Olympic Games in Rio on a variety of topics.

There are no bears in Mexico class="_">

“Now I have come to Yekaterinburg for a very short time, already on June 8 I am leaving for the Moscow region to the base of the Russian national team, where we begin preparations for the Olympic Games in Rio,” says David Belyavsky, “so, while there is an opportunity, I have time to do pleasant things. Here, today we open a beauty salon.

– How did this idea come about? class="_">

- My girlfriend worked in this area, but she had a dream to organize her own business for a long time. And now we have our own beauty salon. They did everything here with their own hands, completely all the repairs. So this is not just a business, this place is especially dear to us now, for us it is like a second home.

- You have soft toys everywhere - bears, where do you get so many? class="_">

- These are the bears that I brought Masha from different countries from all competitions. Each bear has the flag of his country on his T-shirt. This collection has accumulated over 4.5 years, during the time we have been together.

- Were there any problems with finding bears? class="_">

- Yes, it was. There are no bears in Mexico at all, none. And from Asia I brought a panda, but this is also a bear.

- This is one of the most expensive bears for me, - says Masha, - David brought it to me from the Olympic Games in London.

- Your signature hairstyle - did the girl try, by any chance not her idea? class="_">

- No, I met her when I was already with such a hairstyle. I don’t remember why I made such a haircut - in my opinion, I wanted to change something.

“And the earring?” Is it related to something? class="_">

- This was in adolescence, at the age of 14 I saw someone, I decided to do the same.

- You have a tattoo on your left arm in the form of an inscription in Latin - what does this phrase mean? class="_">

- Well, this phrase has a meaning, anyone who is interested can look, translate.

The most elegant gymnast class="_">

- What are your impressions of the triumphant European Championship 2016 in Berne? class="_">

- This is the most successful European Championship for me and very good for the entire Russian team. I succeeded: gold on uneven bars, silver on horseback, and even to get into the prize-winners - to take bronze - on the crossbar, which for me is the most difficult element in gymnastics. Well, plus one more gold - as part of the team. Also, following the results of the tournament, I was awarded the prize "The most elegant gymnast".

- What does it mean? class="_">

- They are chosen according to the beauty and effectiveness of the exercises. It was very pleasant to win this prize, I waited a long time, I wanted to receive it. This prize was established by a well-known watch manufacturer. Every year this company chooses one gymnast, they give a watch and a figurine.

David Belyavsky at the European Championships received a prestigious award - "The most elegant gymnast".

- What is the difference between the European Championship, the World Championship and the Olympic Games? class="_">

- Everything is simple here, in Europe there are no our main competitors - the Chinese and Japanese. They are now considered the strongest in the world. Although if you look at the statistics and the number of points scored by our team at the European Championships, you can see that we performed at the level of Japanese gymnasts. In Burn, we scored 271 points - the same number as the Japanese in the victorious world championship for themselves. That is, we can compete with them on equal terms and defeat them.

Damn, it's the Olympics! class="_">

- You are an all-rounder, what kind of crown is for you, and what is more difficult? class="_">

- Floor exercises are good for me, in this form I constantly get to the finals at the European Championships. In the past - the second was, now it has become the fourth. “Horse” has recently become good at turning out, so in Burn and managed to become the second on this projectile. But the rings are more difficult. First of all, in terms of physical fitness. There it is necessary to do static elements. That's not mine. The jump - with a good base, goes well, the main thing is to do everything, a big plus for the all-around. On the uneven bars, I have now raised the basic mark, this is one of my strongest shells.

The Olympic Games in London are the debut for David. In the individual all-around, he took 5th place.

– You already have the London 2012 Olympic experience. Can you describe the feeling of performing at the Olympics, with what can it be compared? class="_">

- It can't be compared to anything. Seriously. In London, for example, I was one of the youngest participants, but it so happened that out of our entire team I went out to perform first. It was a crossbar. I go up to her and think: "Damn, this is the Olympics!" But it didn’t scare me, but, on the contrary, provoked me. I didn't have to tune in. I just went out, thinking that this is the Olympics, which means that you need to fulfill your task and that's it.

- In London, you took 5th place in the all-around, the final on horseback, and the whole team took 6th place. How can this result be assessed? class="_">

“It was a great performance for me. Before that, at the 2011 World Championships, I took sixth place, and here the Olympics are the main start in the life of athletes, and I managed to become fifth. Step forward.

I'm going to Rio for medals class="_">

- It is clear that in Rio the goals are completely different. To begin with, I will try to get to the finals at the Olympics, and then I will try to fight for a medal. Four years ago, just getting to the Olympics was great, but now I want to win awards. As I said, we can fight the Japanese. Plus, on the uneven bars, I raised the base. The old base did not allow me to get into the final, and now at the European Championships in the final I got 16 points, which means that I can be among the winners.

- In gymnastics, is there some kind of selection for the Olympics, as, for example, in the same team sports? class="_">

– No, there is no such thing. The only thing is we have to get a license for the country. We did it at the World Championships when we took 6th place in the team all-around. At least, it was necessary to be in the top eight. Plus, then 4 teams are still selected, in total, 12 of the strongest teams in the world participate in the Olympic Games. And personally for each selection is not present. I have been proving for a long time that I should be in the team, they are counting on me. At the World Championships, for example, I did six shells from the team. Some make one shell at a time, but they put me on everything. That is, there was no question of my failure.

David's signature projectile is bars. In this form, he is a 5-time champion of Russia.

Went to competitions at their own expense class="_">

- I started training with the national team at the age of 14. Almost 10 years in the team. The first time I was called to a training camp was when I was still living in Votkinsk. It was interesting and everything is very strict. I didn’t even expect that everything would be so tough in terms of the daily routine, it was hard at first, but over time I got used to it.

- How did you become a Yekaterinburger? Why did you move from your hometown? class="_">

- In Votkinsk, there were problems with financing at a sports school, we went to competitions at our own expense, then this money was not always returned. Plus, we didn't have good shells. And Sergey Nikolayevich Zakirov and I, this is my first coach, decided that we need to change something if we want to achieve results. He contacted a coach from Yekaterinburg - Peter Aleksandrovich Kitaisky. They looked at me at competitions, they were satisfied, and at the age of 14 I moved to the Urals. He graduated from the school of the Olympic reserve - 3 courses, after that he entered the Ural State University of Physical Culture, and already graduated from it. Now I'm studying for a master's degree in St. Petersburg.

In the native sports school of David Belyavsky SDYUSSHOR "Locomotive" now not everything is perfect. Some gymnastic equipment needs to be replaced.

Once I got an F in a PE class at school class="_">

How did you manage to study with such a busy schedule of training and competitions, like in gymnastics? class="_">

- Well, it’s clear that they helped a little, without it in any way. For example, our collection lasts a month, but I come here only for a week, that is, I miss almost the entire program. But sometimes, back in the days of the school, teachers came directly to us for training, they conducted lessons there.

- But it’s interesting: with so many workouts, did you need to go to physical education classes at school? class="_">

- Not everyone knew at first that I was doing gymnastics. Once I even got a deuce in a physical education class. I decided to play on the uneven bars, but the teacher did not understand this. I understood what I was doing, but he did not know that I could do that.

In the Yekaterinburg Sports School "Locomotive" David Belyavsky has been studying since the age of 14 - after moving to the Urals from his native Votkinsk.

I became a gymnast thanks to my grandmother class="_">

- As a child, I was vain, I ran everywhere, climbed. We had a school near our house, in the evenings there a physical education teacher taught gymnastics and general physical training, and my grandmother took me there. So I started going to classes in the evenings. And somehow the teacher arranged competitions in general physical education, I won them, and he sent me to the gymnastic section in Votkinsk. I was already 8 years old, that is, I went to gymnastics rather late.

– Did you like it right away? class="_">

- Yes, when I first came to the hall, I immediately realized that this was mine. I saw shells, a trampoline - I started jumping on it right away.

- Did everything work out or did you have to fall often? class="_">

Of course, everyone goes through this. Often fell off the rings. In gymnastics, after all, if you almost moved there or didn’t work with your hands, then that’s it - you’ll already be on the floor. We fall on the mats, but it still hurts.

- Are there calluses on your hands? class="_">

- Yes (David shows his palm, which is almost completely one big callus. - Approx. ed.)

Success in gymnastics requires sacrifice - the skin on David's palms has turned into huge calluses.

After Rio, I will rest for a month class="_">

Is there a vacation at all? For example, can you afford to take a month off? class="_">

- No, we have never had a month of rest. I think after the Olympics I will rest for a month. And so we have a schedule - this is three to four weeks of collection, then a week of rest, then again collection, and so on for a whole year.

- President of the Gymnastics Federation Vasily Titov said that David Belyavsky should be separately praised for the European Championship. Nice or is it too much? class="_">

- Of course, it's nice. If the team is doing well, but you are not succeeding, then it’s a shame for yourself. And if the praise - of course, it's nice.

- From the point of view of psychology and achieving results, how should a coach behave - praise you, or, as they say, keep you in check? class="_">

- No, the coach and I always have very calm communication, good relations, we never yell at each other. Some athletes sometimes argue with their coaches. We do not have that.

- The elements in modern gymnastics are so complex that only a few in the world can already perform them, - says David Belyavsky.

Gymnastics is getting harder class="_">

- Is there a person in gymnastics whom you looked at and wanted to be like, who is your idol? class="_">

- Yes, there is such a person, he, in my opinion, is a 6-time world champion, since 2009 no one can win him. This is Japanese Kohei Uchimura. He has a very good execution of all shells.

- Are there people in Russian gymnastics who you can reach for? The same our legendary Alexei Nemov ... class="_">

- Nemov is a great athlete, and at one time he performed unrealistic things on the apparatus, but for the present time, the combinations of gymnasts of those years will no longer meet modern requirements of complexity. Gymnastics is growing by leaps and bounds. Approximately 10 new elements appear every year. And so complex that only a few in the world can already carry them out. Some go to the loss of performance, increasing complexity.

David Belyavsky is one of the main hopes of the Russian team at the Olympic Games in Rio.

What three words come to mind when you think of the Olympic Games in Brazil? class="_">

– Medals, team and heat.

Have you been to Brazil before? class="_">

– No, but I think it will be about the same as in Mexico.

- The main thing is that the bears were ... class="_">

Yes, I hope they will!

The Olympic Games in Rio will be held from 5 to 21 August. The Olympic Artistic Gymnastics Tournament will take place from 6 to 15 August.

David Belyavsky - Russian gymnast, Honored Master of Sports. Born in Votkinsk (Udmurtia) on February 23, 1992, a graduate of the Lokomotiv Youth Sports School (Yekaterinburg). Multiple champion of Russia, absolute champion of Europe, participant of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Education - higher, UralGUFK. He continues his studies in the magistracy in St. Petersburg.

24-year-old gymnast from Udmurtia David Belyavsky won two medals at the Rio Olympics: bronze in uneven bars and silver in the team championship. David arrived at the NASHE Radio studio to visit Podimniki in a new chic white BMW X4 with David Belyavsky numbers, which he received personally from the President of Russia. Together with him in the car sat the Honored Master of Sports of International Class, two-time European champion in artistic gymnastics Emin Garibov, who made his debut as a commentator at the Rio Olympics.

Gymnasts told readers NSN everything about the life of athletes during the Olympics in Rio: about food and sex, about fears and injuries, about robberies and corrupt police officers, about unfinished facades, insidious taxi drivers and is there life after gymnastics.

— David, if you have several medals, do they give you a car for each one?

- No, only for the highest, for the rest - a monetary reward.

How many days can you travel with these numbers?

– 10 days until I register and get regular numbers.

— Handed right in the Kremlin?

— Yes, right in the Kremlin.

- Were there people who could not come to the president?

“Personally, I don't know them.

- And what about those who do not have rights?

- Tom is given a driver or relatives are invited.

What did the president say?

- I congratulated, praised - well done, they coped with such a difficult situation, they showed that Russia is ready to compete in any conditions. Supported our Paralympians.

- Emin, many athletes are dissatisfied with the organization of the Olympics, the readiness of the sites. What can you say about the gymnastic arena?

- The gymnastic arena was in order - a good hall, a good platform. But in general, the organization was really very lame, and the level of the entire Olympics was below average. The feeling that the tennis courts are set in an ordinary courtyard. At many objects, the unfinished facades are hung with multi-colored rags.

- Is it difficult to comment on gymnastics?

— I would not say that it is difficult. I tried to comment as clearly as possible for any viewer. It seems to me that gymnastics can be more popular if the audience understands the nuances of what happens, how the element is performed, how difficult it is, how points are awarded.

David, a question for you. A French gymnast broke his leg while jumping during a competition. Is it difficult to perform after an athlete gets such a serious injury in front of your eyes?

- We were lucky that we performed on a different shift and did not see this terrible fall. I also did not watch the video posted later on the Internet. I only know that the athlete underwent surgery, and now he is doing well.

- Fracture - a common occurrence in performances?

Not at all, it's rare. After all, very well-trained athletes perform at high-level competitions.

What is your biggest fear besides losing?

- Fall, probably, like a French athlete.

- Tribunes hinder or help?

- It depends. Once in Baku, they even buzzed me because I could beat a local athlete.

- Did they buzz at the performances of our gymnastics team in Rio?

- No, it didn’t happen at gymnastics, and I didn’t hear at all that someone was booed at the Olympics.

At what age do children start gymnastics?

- Usually from four to five years old, but I came quite late - at eight.

- Emin, where can I leave gymnastics, where can I continue my sports career?

- In any sport, including complex coordination. You can go to ballroom dancing and the barbell without any problems. Because gymnastics develops all the physical qualities necessary for this. In practice, many who do not do well in gymnastics continue their careers in the circus.

- David, with what intensity does the team train while at the training camp?

- Six days a week from 7:30 to 8:30 - exercises and two more workouts for 2-2.5 hours during the day. Sunday is a day off.

- Aren't you afraid to lose your shape due to numerous solemn events: in the morning - a reception with the president, after the broadcast - with the Minister of Defense?

“Now we can get some rest. I was lucky with the body - I do not gain weight, although I eat whatever I want.

- Do gymnasts have any weight standard?

— No, we do not have weight categories.

- Many men have a stereotype that gymnasts are very interesting and fun in sex. Can the same be said about gymnasts?

- It is more interesting with gymnasts than with gymnasts.

- Beautiful figures of gymnasts - the result of training or some kind of initial data?

- Of course, the result of training.

— David, do you have a profession?

- Yes, I have a diploma from the Ural State University of Physical Education, a work book, I am an instructor, I can train children and adults.

— Are you from Yekaterinburg? Have you been in your hometown for a long time?

— No, I'm from Votkinsk. The last time I was there was before New Years.

Did you go to Rio with a girl? Could you take someone with you?

- The problem is that only accredited persons are allowed into the Olympic Village. My girlfriend was in Rio, but she lived separately.

- Were you allowed to meet?

- It was not forbidden to meet, but there was simply no time for it. Competitions, training. Training, competitions - we did not have a single day off.

- Does a stormy night harm the upcoming performance?

- I think so, if it happens immediately before the competition. It is better not to release energy.

- In the Olympic Village, did you eat for money or for free?

- In the Olympic Village, any service is free: food, swimming pool, medical center, laundry, ironing.

- How did you like the food, did you miss borscht, cabbage soup?

- They fed us borscht. A separate villa was rented, where the medical center was located. You could spend the whole day there, relax and even eat borscht. I didn’t manage to get into the Russian House - the coach didn’t let us go anywhere else.

- Emin, how were journalists received? The apartments where they lived didn't look like shacks?

- It was possible to live. We traveled from our federation. At first I was there as a tourist, and then I received an invitation to comment on the competition. And although I had enough free time, I practically did not go anywhere, except for a couple of times to the Fans' House, because it was dumb. There were a huge number of stories with robberies and attacks. For example, our illustrious swimmer, silver medalist Zhenya Korotyshkin, was robbed at two in the afternoon near the Russian House by guys with weapons. I had to move only in groups and it was better to use personal transport, because taxi drivers specially drove through the favelas, where local guys took everything clean, and people returned back without things.
