Tajweed is the science of correct reading of the Quran. Studying short suras from the Koran: transcription in Russian and video

In this article, you will learn about the fastest and most effective ways to improve your technique of reading the Quran in Arabic. By following our advice, over time you will forget that you stumbled and stuttered on simple words, and you will be able to read any page of the Koran as easily as you read Surah al-Fatihah.

But first, let me tell you how I realized that I needed to seriously work on my reading technique. This happened at an event in which one fairly famous scientist took part...

When I realized my technique was weak

When I was a student, I often participated in preparing various events and activities for Muslim students. I have always been considered an activist because I did a lot for the Islamic societies of our university.

So, I was busy organizing a meeting with the famous scientist, running among everyone with an important air, until I noticed that the hafiz whom we had invited to read the Koran at the beginning of the evening did not appear.

Immediately I began to mentally go through everyone who could replace him. But, looking around, I realized that none of these people were there. I began to feverishly look for at least someone, even if not from our society. I even stopped people at random, but everyone refused: “No, my reading is bad - why can’t you do it yourself?”

They asked why I couldn’t read myself! I was completely knocked down and realized that I had no way out. At first I decided to read what I knew by heart, but it turned out that I only remembered a few short suras at the end of the Koran, and reading them was somehow “dishonest”.

Fortunately, I was practicing Surah Yasin and recently listened to it several times, so I decided to focus on it...

You can believe me, never in my life have I felt such relief after reading the Koran as I did that time. Usually I feel calm on stage, but then I just started sweating with excitement. I stuttered and stumbled on almost every word. Imagine, I almost tripped over the words “ya sin.”

When it was all over, the scientist nodded at me and said, “You know, you should read the Koran more.” Can you imagine how embarrassing?!

I understood everything myself: I needed to take up recitation properly. It was a long journey of trial and error, but I got through it, and here's how:

5 Ways to Improve Your Quran Recitation Technique

1. An old Thai saying

The Thais, known to us for inventing the Muay Thai style of kickboxing, said: “If you want to be a good fighter... fight!” This is also true if your goal is to learn to recite the Koran correctly and fluently.

Do what the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was told to do in the first place: read. Read as much as you can, as often as you can. This moment cannot be replaced by anything. The more you read, the better you get. Before you know it, you'll be reading an unfamiliar page as quickly as you were reading a few lines before.

2. Link an old and a new habit.

Without a doubt, this is the only truly effective way to create a new habit. You should link the habit of reading the Quran in Arabic to something you do daily and never miss. For example, brushing your teeth or getting dressed in the morning.

A great way is to time the reading to coincide with one (or several) prayers that you perform every day. This way you will be in a state of voodoo, and one of the main psychological barriers will be overcome.

And when you decide which prayer to choose, promise yourself to read a short passage from the Koran every day after it, and so on for thirty days.

3. Repetition is the mother of learning

And now I will teach you a technique that will allow you to double or triple the quality and speed of your reading. Let's say you decide to read two pages of the Quran after Isha prayer and 2 pages in the morning before leaving for work.

“But will that mean I only read one page?” you say. Yes, but you did it four times, and what’s even more important is that the fourth time you read three to four times faster than the first. What if you read one page five times a day?

The next day, move on to the next page, and so on. At the end of the week, you may want to go back over all seven pages you completed during the week.

You might even want to do it with a Tajweed teacher who can correct your mistakes. You will find that you still read the very first page 2-3 times faster and more confidently than on your first try.

And in 600 days you will read the Quran 6 times! And let them envy you!

If you decide to read one page five times a day and once at the end of the week, then it turns out that by the number of pages in a hundred days, that is, in three months, you will read the entire Quran! This means that you will do this four times in a year.

4. Remember your keywords

The key to understanding the Quran is to know the basic words of the Quran by heart. If you learn 300 of these words, it will account for about 70% of all the words of the Qur'an. But you need to memorize the “right” words.

They will help you when reading, linking the text together, therefore, having learned these common words by heart, you will recognize them when you meet, and then something amazing will happen...

Just like in your native language, you will unconsciously mark the first and last letters of a familiar word, and immediately recognize the entire word, that is, you will not have to read it letter by letter. I want to say that when you begin to immediately recognize the most common words, your reading technique will improve many, many times.

However, this advice does not replace the previous three. Don't wait until you've learned all the words you need to start reading. This is a common mistake and a waste of time. You can know all three hundred words, but if you have never read the Qur'an out loud, you will still be very slow.

If for a month you can memorize 5-10 words every day and still read, in a month or two you will know 70% of all the words of the Quran. You will see for yourself that this will make you want to teach and read again and again, and will give you confidence in your abilities.

5. Use digital devices

Digital technology can also help you move forward quickly. Record the reading of a famous hafiz whose voice you like. Listen to him read one page at a time and read along with him, running your finger along the lines. If you are too behind, just follow the text. Then return to the top of the page and start all over again, and so on several times. Since the hafiz reads much faster than you, you will go through one page several times in one go. First, you will learn to follow the text with your eyes, and then pronounce it out loud.

So, in short, here are five rules to improve your Quran recitation technique:

1. Practice reading constantly, like a boxer practicing his punches over and over again.
2. Read one page of the Quran immediately after prayer.
3. Read it several times before moving on.
5. Learn five words from the Koran a day, and so on for two months.
6. Read along with the recording of the hafiz reading.

Based on materials from productivemuslim.com, islam.com.ua

The Koran is the holy scripture of the Muslim people. If you learn to read it correctly, you can simultaneously master the Arabic language.

Many people wonder how to learn to read the Quran and where they can learn it.

  • Before studying, it is recommended to ask yourself the question of why to study the Quran. If you were able to answer, then it is advisable to set a goal: not to stop studying in the middle and to reach the end.
  • It is recommended to choose a place where you can read and study quietly. Most often, the choice is made in the evening, since it is before bedtime that you can quickly remember, and no one will distract you from such a task.
  • It’s worth setting up a corner in the house to study. Also, some advise enrolling in Islamic book study groups. They are attended by people who already know, and it will be easier to get used to it; they will help and give advice on how to learn to read the Koran.
  • It is advisable to learn to read the letters of the Koran correctly and pronounce them correctly. With correct pronunciation, you can quickly learn the book. You should start reading from the first sura and recite it at least 20 times. This will help you remember faster. At the first difficulties, do not be upset. You shouldn’t stop at the first obstacles; you should study in depth.

  • A good solution would be to read aloud. You should check what you read in front of your relatives or friends. If a person is embarrassed to speak in front of people, then you can turn on the audio and check what you read. Some people advise recording your words on a tape recorder and then checking everything.
  • If the surah is too long, then you can start learning a couple of verses. This reading allows you to quickly memorize surahs and verses.
  • Do not forget about studying before going to bed, and as soon as you wake up, immediately repeat what you have memorized. Most often, it is easier to study for young people under 30 years of age. But, despite your age, you still have to try. To make it easy to learn, it is recommended to choose one method, this will allow you to quickly achieve your goal.

How to Study the Quran

Many people wonder how to learn to read the Quran on their own, whether it is difficult. If you follow some rules, achieving your goal will be quite simple.

  1. To begin with, it is recommended to master the Arabic language, which is called “Alif wa ba”.
  2. Then you should practice writing.
  3. Learn Tajweed grammar.
  4. You should read and practice regularly.

Success will depend on whether a person writes correctly. Only after mastering writing can you move on to reading and grammar.

Many people immediately think that there is nothing complicated about this. But all these points are divided into several more rules. But the main point is that you need to learn how to write correctly. If a person does not learn to write letters without errors, then he will not be able to move on to grammar and reading.

What are the points in studying

There are a few more points to learn the Quran in Arabic:

  1. A person only learns to write and read in Arabic, but will not be able to translate. If you want to study the language more deeply, you can go to the appropriate country and start studying.
  2. The main condition is what type of scripture will be studied, since there are differences in them. Many old mentors recommend studying from the Koran, which is called “Ghazan”.

But many young people say it's better to study modern versions. The font of the texts will be too different, but the meaning will remain the same.

If a person attends any trainings, he can already ask the teachers about how to learn to read the Koran. Everyone will help you cope with the difficulties that arise.

What does the Koran look like in the modern world?

If a person has a question about how to learn the Quran, then he immediately purchases this book. After this, you can begin to study the alphabet and read the Koran in Arabic. For this stage, you can purchase a notebook. All letters are written out separately approximately 80-90 times. not that complicated. The alphabet has only 28 letters, of which only a few vowels are “alif” and “ey”.

It can also make it difficult to understand the language. Since, in addition to letters, there are also sounds: “i”, “un”, “a”, “u”. Also, many letters, depending on what part of the word they are in, are written differently. Many also have problems from the fact that we need to start reading from right to left, which is unusual for us (in Russian and many others they read the other way around).

Therefore, this causes great inconvenience for many people when reading or writing. It is recommended to ensure that the inclination of the handwriting is also from right to left. It’s difficult to get used to, but once you learn it, you can achieve excellent results.

After studying the alphabet, you will no longer have to wonder about how to quickly learn to read the Koran. After all, after mastering the skills of the Arabic language, you can learn to read without effort.

How to read the Quran correctly

When reading the Quran, it is recommended to be in a state of ritual purity. This means that, regardless of gender, it is strictly forbidden to approach the Koran after intimacy. During menstrual or postpartum bleeding, women are not recommended to touch the book. If they know it by heart, then they have the right to recite the texts from memory.

It is also advisable to make taharat after performing ghusul. Even if the latter has not been committed, the reader can simply read it without touching the book.

Does it matter what you wear?

You need to pay attention to the clothes you are wearing. A woman must cover all parts of her body except her hands and face, but a man covers the distance from the navel to the knees. This rule must always be followed!

They read the Koran loudly, but if there is a chance that they will hear, then you can lower the tone a little.

  • It is not recommended to place the book on the floor. It is advisable to place it on a pillow or a special stand.
  • It is not recommended to wet your fingers with saliva when turning the pages of a book.
  • Don't throw away the Koran.
  • Do not place on your feet or under your head.
  • It is not recommended to consume food or water while reading the Qur'an.
  • Don't yawn while reading.

If you have patience and strength, you can easily study and start reading the Quran in Arabic.

“The Quran is an intercessor before Allah and justifies the reciter before Him, and the one who is guided by it (the Quran) will lead to Paradise, and the one who is not guided by it will be dragged into the fire of hell” (hadith reported by al-Haytham, at- Tabarani).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “...read it (the Koran), truly, Allah rewards for reading it, for each letter there are ten rewards, I do not say that for Alif, Lam, Mim there are ten rewards, however for Alif - ten, for Lam - ten, for Mim - ten (retributions)" (Hakim, vol. 1, no. 555).

The Quran is the Speech of Allah and the greatest miracle that was given to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Every believer must be guided by it and know its dignity. It is reading the Qur'an that is a source of abundant grace and helps to find peace of mind. They talked about how important it is to read the Holy Scripture sent by the Almighty, and what benefits there are in this, at one of the lectures at the Galeevsky Mosque.

Let us remember that there are certain rules and ethics for reading the Koran.

2. You should take the Qur'an in your hands and put it back after reading, if possible, without turning your back to it.

3. It is forbidden to touch or carry the Quran, even the case or cloth in which it is wrapped, without ablution.

4. Anyone who, according to Sharia, is obliged to perform a complete ablution of the body and a woman, when she is not allowed to perform namaz, is forbidden not only to touch the Koran, but also to recite it by heart.

6. Putting the Qur'an on the floor is considered a violation of the ethics of worshiping the Qur'an.

8. The Koran must be placed above all other books; no other book can be placed on it.

9. It is forbidden to take even a piece of paper with the recording of verses of the Koran with you into the toilet and similar unclean places, as well as read them out loud there.

10. The one who reads it in the mosque or when waking up at night receives the greatest reward for reading the Quran.

12. The greatest disrespect for the Koran should be considered the actions of those who, without delving into the true meaning of its verses, try to interpret them superficially, according to their own understanding, following translations into Russian and other languages. The inaccurate conveying of the meaning of the Qur'an misleads people.

14. It is not recommended to read the Koran while dozing, as there is a high probability of making mistakes.

17. The reader of the Qur'an should not pronounce other words during the reading process unless absolutely necessary; he should not laugh or play with his fingers - he should sit quietly and respectfully.

18. It is an imperative sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to recite dua after completing the reading of the Quran. Allah accepts such a prayer and answers it.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “A person who recites the Quran in prayer while standing will receive a hundred rewards for each letter; he who performs prayer while sitting will receive fifty rewards for reciting each letter of the Qur'an; whoever reads the Koran outside of prayer will receive ten rewards for each letter; for those who listen to the reading of the Koran, wanting to receive reward, one reward is written down for each letter; to the one who has completed reading the Quran (in full), Allah will answer the prayer in this world or in the next world” (Dailami. “Kanzul Umal”, No. 2427).

High position before Allah, intercession on the Day of Judgment, noble character and spiritual purity are only a small part of the fruits that reading the Quran brings. Studying the Holy Quran is one of the most glorious ways of remembering the Almighty. A believer who studies the Qur'an and memorizes it by heart will not only earn great reward, but will also fill his heart with the Word of God, which lies cannot approach either from before or from behind. A treasury of divine wisdom and a storehouse of knowledge is revealed to him, and he is awarded great mercy. But at the same time, he has a great responsibility, because neglecting the Quran after Allah has placed it in a person’s soul is a great sin.

Ibn Masud said: “Truly, this Quran is a treat from Allah, so accept His treat as much as possible. He is Allah's strong rope, clear light and beneficial healing. He is protection for those who adhere to him and salvation for those who follow him. He does not depart from the truth to be reproached, and does not deviate from the truth to be corrected. Its miracles do not cease, and it does not decay from frequent repetition” (narrated by al-Hakim).

Badly Great

All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!

The Koran is a holy book sent to us by Allah through the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). Therefore, we need to treat it with awe and reverence. There are external and internal rules of behavior when reading the Koran. External ones are the purity of the reader, the environment around and the behavior itself when reading. Internal is the mood of a person when reading, the state of his soul.

External rules when reading the Quran:

It is imperative to be in a state of ritual purity. “Verily, this is the noble Qur’an, found in the Preserved Scripture, touched only by the purified.”(Surah al-Waqia 77-79). That is, it is strictly forbidden for men and women to touch and read the Koran after intimate intimacy before performing ghusl - complete ablution, and for men also after janabah (emission). It is also forbidden for women to touch the Quran with their hands during menstruation and postpartum bleeding, but they can recite it by heart if they are afraid of forgetting what they know from the Quran or as dhikr. If the reader has already done ghusul, then he must do taharat (minor ablution, wudu), that is, only those who have purified themselves with taharat can touch the Koran. And most scientists agreed on this. However, if there is a ghusl, but no taharat, they can recite the Quran from memory without touching it. Abu Salam said: “I was told by someone who saw the Prophet (PBUH) once read something from the Quran after urinating before touching the water (to perform ablution).”. (Ahmad 4/237. Hafiz Ibn Hajar called this hadith authentic. See “Nataij al-afkar” 1/213), another confirmation: Imam an-Nawawi said: “ Muslims are unanimous that it is permissible to read the Quran in the absence of ablution, although it is better to have ablution for this. Imam al-Haramain and al-Ghazali said: “We do not say that reading the Qur’an without a small ablution is condemned, since it is reliably known from the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) that he read the Qur’an without a small ablution!”” (See “al-Majmoo’” 2/82). As for translations of the Quran or an electronic version on a computer or mobile phone, you can read and listen to the Quran without ablution. It is still better to have a ghusl out of respect for the words of Allah.

It is advisable to brush your teeth with miswak. (Miswak are sticks used to clean teeth made from Salvadora Persian wood or arak). As the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Truly your mouths are the ways of the Quran, so cleanse it with miswak."(Suyuti, Fathul Kabir: 1/293).

Next is clothing. The clothing of the person who reads the Koran must comply with the requirements of Sharia. You must dress as you would during prayer, observing the aura (for men, the part from the navel to the knees is covered, for women, everything except the face and hands is covered), and of course, the clothes must be clean.

You need to sit down with respect, with wudu (taharat) facing the qibla. Although it is not forbidden to go in any direction. Take your time in reading, read with tartil (arrangement) and tajweed. That is, you need to read with reverence and respect, observing the rules of pronunciation and reading.

Try to cry, and even force yourself. The Koran says: “They fall on their faces, touching the ground with their chins and sobbing. And this increases their humility". (Surah Al-Isra 109). Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “ The Qur'an was revealed with sorrow, and you weep while reading it. If you can't cry, at least pretend to cry" People asked one alim: “Why don’t we cry when reading the Qur’an just like the Sahaba cried (radiyallahu anhum)?” He replied: “Yes, simply because when the Sahaba read about the inhabitants of hell, they were afraid that they were among them and cried, and we always think that it is someone is there, but by no means us. And when the companions of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) read in the Koran about the inhabitants of paradise, they said: how far we are from them and after them, they cried, and we, reading about the people of paradise, already imagine ourselves among them.”

Give due credit to the verses on mercy and punishment as mentioned above. That is, if in some surah it is written about the Day of Judgment or hellfire, the reader of the Quran should realize the importance of what is written and fear with all his heart and rejoice when reading the verses that describe the mercy of Allah Almighty.

Chant, because in many hadiths there are instructions for chanting the Qur'an. One hadith says " Allah does not listen to anything as much as He listens to a prophet with a beautiful voice who recites the Koran out loud." (Al-Maqdisi, “al-adab ash-shariya”, vol. 1, p. 741). The Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Anyone who does not recite the Koran is not one of us.” (Abu Daoud).

Internal rules determined by Mashaikhs (Sheikhs)

“Keep in your heart the Greatness of the Koran, how sublime these words are.

Hold in your heart the Majesty, Sublimity, Power of Allah Ta'ala, whose words are the Quran.

Clear your heart of waswas (doubts) and fears.

Reflect on the meaning and read with pleasure. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) once spent the night reading the following verse again and again: “If You punish them, then they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, then You are the Great, the Wise.” (surah Meal: 118). One night, Hazrat Sa'id ibn Jubair (radiallahu anhu) read the following verse before the morning: “Separate yourself today, sinners” (Surah Yasin: 59)

Submit your heart to the verse you are reading. For example, if the language is a verse about mercy, then the heart should be filled with joy, and if the verse is about punishment, then the heart should tremble.

Make the ear so attentive, as if Allah Ta’ala himself is speaking, and the reader is listening to Him. May Allah Ta’ala, with His Kindness and Mercy, give you and me the opportunity to read the Quran with all these rules.”

Adabs in relation to the Holy Quran.

The Arabic word “adab” translated into Russian means “ethics”, “correct behavior”, “good attitude”. Adabs are rules of etiquette for Muslims. In this case, adabs are given in relation to the Koran. They also include the rules listed above.

What cannot and is not advisable to do in relation to the Koran

The Quran should not be placed on the floor; it is better to place it on a stand or pillow.

Don't let your finger slobber while turning the pages.

You cannot throw the Quran when passing it to another person.

Do not place it on your feet or under your head or lean on it.

You cannot take the Koran or any texts that contain verses from the Koran into the toilet. You should also not recite verses of the Koran in the toilet.

You should not eat or drink while reading the Qur'an.

You cannot read the Koran in noisy places, in markets and bazaars, or where people are having fun and drinking alcohol.

You should not yawn while reading the Qur'an. Also if you suffer from belching. It is better to stop and continue when the yawning or burping passes.

You cannot freely retell and translate the Koran. The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “ Those who interpret the Koran according to their own understanding, let them prepare for themselves a place in the fire of Hell"(At-Tirmidhi, Abu Daud and an-Nasai).

The Quran should not be read for the purpose of obtaining worldly benefits or in order to stand out among other Muslims. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: After reading from the Koran, ask for the goodness of Allah, ask for Paradise! Do not ask for worldly rewards (money, property). There will come a time when people will read the Qur'an in order to get closer to people (to solve their worldly problems)."

You cannot talk about worldly things or laugh while reading the Koran.

Desirable actions in relation to the Qur'an

It is considered sunnah to begin reading the Quran by saying the phrase: “ A'uzu billahi mina-shaytani-rrajim» (I seek the help of Allah against the wiles of the damned shaitan!), and then « Bismillahi-rrahmani-rrahim "(In the name of Allah, the Beneficent and the Merciful).

It is considered sunnah to perform judgment (prostration) if you have reached the verse with the symbol of judgment (i.e., the verse of prostration).

At the end of reading the Quran, even if the entire Quran has not been read, but only a part, you need to say the dua: “ Sadakallahul-'azim va ballaga rasulyukhul-karim. Allahumma-nfa'na bikhi wa barik lana fihi wal-hamdu lillahi rabbil 'alamina wa astaghfirullahal-hayyal-qayyuma " (“The truth was spoken by the Great Allah and the noble Prophet brought it to the people. O Allah, grant us the benefit and grace of reading the Qur’an. All praise is to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and to You I turn to ask for forgiveness of sins, O Ever-Living and Remaining forever!")

It is considered sunnah to make a dua after finishing reading the Quran. Any. Allah accepts such a prayer and answers it.

The Quran should be kept above other books and no other books should be placed on it.

« When the Koran is recited, listen to it and remain silent, perhaps you will be pardoned"(Surah al-Araf 204).

It is advisable to repeat those verses of the Koran that affected you. Once the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), who knows the entire Quran, spent the whole night repeating the same verse: “If You punish them, then they are Your servants, and if You forgive them, then You are Great, Wise!(Surah al-Maida (Meal): 118)

It is advisable to read the Quran at the time indicated by Allah: “ Perform namaz from noon until darkness sets in and read the Qur'an at dawn. Indeed, at dawn the Koran is read in front of witnesses. "(Surah al-Isra:78) Because at dawn the angels are replaced: those who were with you at night are replaced by the angels of the morning. The reverse shift occurs in the late afternoon, after the afternoon Asr prayer. And they also witness the recitation of the Quran.

Read the Quran slowly, pausing between verses. Meditate if you know the meanings of the verses, or read at the same time the translation of the meanings of the Koran. It is not recommended to read the Qur'an quickly. It is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “ The one who read it in less than three days did not understand the Koran.".(Tirizi, Quran: 13; Abu Dawud, Ramadan: 8-9; Ibni Majah, Iqamat: 178; Darimi, Salat: 173; Ahmad bin Hanbal: 2/164, 165, 189, 193, 195) That is, the one who read did not will be able to think about the verses, but will not be able to understand, since he will be monitoring the speed of reading.

It is correct to read the letters, because for each letter of the Quran there is a tenfold reward. " If someone reads one letter from the Koran, they write him one reward, and then increase this reward ten times more"(At-Tirmidhi).

Even if reading the Koran is bad, do not give up, but continue further, for the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “ Experts in the Koran will be next to the saints, the most worthy angels. And those who find it difficult to read the Koran, but still read it, will receive a double reward.”. (Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasai). But this does not mean that you do not need to learn to pronounce and read the Koran correctly.

Do not leave the Qur'an open after finishing reading.

It is permissible to say “al-hamdu lillah” if you yourself sneezed and “yarhamukallah” if someone else sneezed. It is also allowed to stand up while reading the Koran if an older, respected and well-behaved person has entered.

It is not prohibited to read the Qur'an while lying down.

Reading the Koran at graves is not prohibited, since there are hadiths talking about the benefits of this reading for the deceased: “ You read Surah Yasin over the dead"(Ahmad, Abu Daoud, Hakim).

The principles of ethics of veneration of the Holy Quran given here are taken from the books: An-Nawawi. "At-Tibyan"; Az-Zabidi. “Ithaf”, Imam al-Qurtubi “Tafsir al-Qurtubi”.

In conclusion, several hadiths about the benefits of reading the Qur'an

The Prophet (PBUH) said: “ The Koran is an intercessor before Allah and justifies the reader before Him, and the one who is guided by it (the Koran) will lead to Paradise, and the one who is not guided by it will be dragged into the fire of hell"(al-Haytham, at-Tabarani).

« You read the Koran, on the Day of Judgment he will come and become an intercessor for you."(Muslim).

“Whoever recites ten verses in one night, on that night his name will not be recorded among careless people distracted from Allah"(Hakim).

Description of Surah an-Nas

Surahs from the Koran were revealed for this humanity. From Arabic the word “an-Nas” is translated as “People”. The Almighty sent down the sura in Mecca, it contains 6 verses. The Lord turns to the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with the requirement to always resort to His help, to seek only Allah’s protection from evil. By “evil” we mean not so much the sorrows that accompany people’s earthly path, but rather the invisible evil that we commit ourselves, following the lead of our own passions, desires, and whims. The Almighty calls this evil “the evil of Shaitan”: human passions are a tempting genie who constantly tries to lead a person astray from the righteous path. Shaitan disappears only when Allah is mentioned: that is why it is so important to read and read regularly.

It must be remembered that the shaitan uses to deceive people those vices that are hidden in themselves, to which they often strive with all their souls. Only an appeal to the Almighty can save a person from the evil that lives within him.

Description of Surah Al-Falyak

Allah revealed Surah Dawn to the Prophet in Mecca. The prayer contains 5 verses. The Almighty, turning to His Prophet (peace be upon him), demands from him and all his followers to always seek salvation and protection from the Lord. Man will find salvation in Allah from all creatures capable of harming him. “The evil of darkness” is an important epithet that denotes the anxiety, fear and loneliness that people experience at night: a similar state is familiar to everyone. Surah “Dawn”, insha Allah, protects a person from the instigations of the devils who seek to sow hatred between people, cut off family and friendly ties, and instill envy in their souls. Prayer that Allah will save you from the wicked who has lost the mercy of Allah because of his spiritual weakness, and now seeks to plunge other people into the abyss of sin.

Surah Al-Ikhlas

A very short, easy to remember, but at the same time extremely effective and useful surah. To listen to Al-Ikhlas in Arabic, you can use video or MP3. The word "Al-Ikhlas" in Arabic means "Sincerity". The surah is a sincere declaration of love and devotion to Allah.

Transcription (phonetic sound of the sura in Russian):

Bismi-llyahi-rrahmaani-rrahhiim

  1. Kul hu Allahu ahad.
  2. Allahu s-samad.
  3. Lam yalid wa lam yulyad
  4. Walaam yakullahu kufuan ahad.

Semantic translation into Russian:

  1. Say: “He is Allah alone,
  2. Allah is Self-sufficient.
  3. He did not give birth and was not born,
  4. and there is no one equal to Him.”

Description of Surah Al-Ikhlas

Allah revealed Surah “Sincerity” to the Prophet in Mecca. Al-Ikhlas contains 4 verses. Muhammad told his students that he was once mockingly asked about his attitude towards the Almighty. The answer was Surah Al-Ikhlas, which contains the statement that Allah is Self-sufficient, that He is One and Only in His perfection, that He has always been, and there is no one equal to Him in strength.

Pagans who professed polytheism turned to the Prophet (peace be upon him) with a demand to tell them about His God. The literal translation of the question they used is: “What is your Lord made of?” For paganism, a material understanding of God was common: they created idols from wood and metal, and worshiped animals and plants. The answer of Muhammad (pbuh) shocked the pagans so much that they abandoned the old faith and recognized Allah.

Many hadiths point out the benefits of Al-Ikhlas. In one article it is impossible to name all the advantages of the sura, there are so many of them. Let's list only the most important ones:

The most famous hadith says how Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) addressed people with the following question: “Isn’t each of you able to read a third of the Koran overnight?” The townspeople were amazed and asked how this was possible. The Prophet replied: “Read Surah Al-Ikhlas! It is equal to a third of the Koran." This hadith says that Surah “Sincerity” contains so much wisdom that cannot be found in any other text.

It is important to know: all these hadiths may not be reliable. Hadiths must be looked at in accordance with the Koran. If a hadith contradicts the Koran, then it should be discarded, even if it somehow managed to be inserted into collections of authentic hadiths.

Another hadith retells to us the words of the Prophet: “If a believer does this fifty times every day, then on the Day of Resurrection a voice from above will be heard over his grave: “Rise, O you who praise Allah, enter Paradise!” In addition, the Messenger said: “If a person reads Surah Al-Ikhlas a hundred times, then Allah Almighty will forgive him the sins of fifty years, provided that he does not commit four types of sins: the sin of bloodshed, the sin of acquisitiveness and hoarding, the sin of depravity and sin drinking alcohol." Reciting a surah is a work that a person does for the sake of Allah. If this work is done with diligence, the Almighty will definitely reward the person praying.

Hadiths repeatedly indicate the reward that is received for reciting Surah “Sincerity”. The reward is proportional to the number of readings of the prayer and the time spent on it. One of the most famous hadiths contains the words of the Messenger, demonstrating the incredible meaning of Al-Ikhlas: “If someone reads Surah Al-Ikhlas once, he will be overshadowed by the grace of the Almighty. Whoever reads it twice will find himself and his entire family under the shadow of grace. If someone reads it three times, he, his family and his neighbors will receive grace from above. To everyone who reads it twelve times, Allah will grant twelve palaces in Paradise. Whoever reads it twenty times, he [on the Day of Judgment] will go with the prophets together like this (while pronouncing these words, the Prophet joined and raised his middle and index fingers up) Whoever reads it a hundred times, the Almighty will forgive all his sins of twenty-five years , except for the sin of bloodshed and the sin of non-repayment of debt. Whoever reads it two hundred times will have the sins of fifty years forgiven. Anyone who reads this surah four hundred times will receive a reward equal to the reward of four hundred martyrs who shed blood and whose horses were wounded in battle. Whoever reads Surah Al-Ikhlas a thousand times will not die without seeing his place in Paradise, or until it is shown to him.”

Another hadith contains some kind of recommendations for people planning to travel or already on the road. Travelers are instructed to recite Al-Ikhlas eleven times while grasping the doorposts of their home with both hands. If you do this, then the person will be protected on the way from the devils, their negative influence and attempts to instill fear and uncertainty in the soul of the traveler. In addition, reciting the surah “Sincerity” is a guarantee of a safe return to places dear to the heart.

It is important to know: no sura by itself can help a person in any way; only Allah can help a person and believers trust in Him! And many hadiths, as we see, contradict the Koran - the direct speech of Allah Himself!

There is another option for reading Surah Al-Ikhlas - in combination with Al-Nas and Al-Falak. Each prayer is said three times. Reading these three suras is protection from evil forces. As we say the prayer, we need to blow on the person we want to protect. The surah is especially useful for children. If the baby cries, screams, kicks his legs, there are signs of the evil eye, be sure to try “Al-Ikhlas”, “Al-Nas” and “Al-Falak”. The effect will be more powerful if you read the surahs before going to bed.

Meaningful translation:

  1. Ya. Syn.
  2. I swear by the wise Koran!
  3. Verily, you are one of the messengers
  4. on the straight path.
  5. He was sent down by the Mighty, the Merciful,
  6. so that you warn people whose fathers no one warned, because of which they remained careless ignoramuses.

  8. Verily, We have placed fetters on their necks up to their chins, and their heads are raised up.
  9. We have placed a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them and covered them with a veil, so they cannot see.
  10. They don't care whether you warned them or not. They don't believe.
  11. You can only warn the one who followed the Reminder and feared the Merciful without seeing Him with their own eyes. Please him with the news of forgiveness and a generous reward.
  12. Verily, We give life to the dead and record what they did and what they left behind. We have counted every thing in a clear guide (the Preserved Tablet).
  13. As a parable, give them the inhabitants of the village to whom the messengers came.
  14. When We sent two messengers to them, they considered them liars, and then We reinforced them with a third. They said: “Verily, we have been sent to you.”
  15. They said: “You are people just like us. The Merciful has not sent down anything, and you are just lying.”
  16. They said: “Our Lord knows that we have indeed been sent to you.
  17. We are entrusted only with the clear transmission of revelation.”
  18. They said: “Indeed, we have seen a bad omen in you. If you do not stop, we will certainly stone you and you will suffer painful suffering from us.”
  19. They said: “Your bad omen will turn against you. Really, if you are warned, do you consider it a bad omen? Oh no! You are people who have transgressed the boundaries of what is permitted!”
  20. A man came in a hurry from the outskirts of the city and said: “O my people! Follow the messengers.
  21. Follow those who do not ask you for reward and follow the straight path.
  22. And why should I not worship the One who created me and to whom you will be returned?
  23. Am I really going to worship other gods besides Him? After all, if the Merciful One wishes to harm me, then their intercession will not help me in any way, and they will not save me.
  24. Then I will find myself in an obvious error.
  25. Indeed, I have believed in your Lord. Listen to me."
  26. He was told: “Enter Paradise!” He said: "Oh, if only my people knew
  27. for which my Lord has forgiven me (or that my Lord has forgiven me) and that He has made me one of the honoured!”
  28. After him, We did not send down any army from heaven against his people and We did not intend to send it down.

  30. Woe to the slaves! Not a single messenger came to them whom they did not mock.
  31. Do they not see how many generations We have destroyed before them and that they will not return to them?
  32. Verily, they will all be gathered from Us.
  33. A sign for them is the dead earth, which We revived and brought from it the grain on which they eat.
  34. We created on it gardens of palm trees and grapes and made springs flow from them,
  35. so that they eat their fruits and what they created with their own hands (or that they eat fruits that they did not create with their own hands). Won't they be grateful?
  36. Great is He who created in pairs what the earth grows, themselves and what they do not know.
  37. The sign for them is the night, which We separate from the day, and so they plunge into darkness.
  38. The sun floats to its abode. This is the decree of the Mighty, the Knowing.
  39. We have predetermined positions for the moon until it again becomes like an old palm branch.
  40. The sun does not have to overtake the moon, and the night does not run ahead of the day. Everyone floats in orbit.
  41. It is a sign for them that We carried their offspring in a crowded ark.
  42. We created for them in his image what they sit on.
  43. If We wish, we will drown them, and then no one will save them, and they themselves will not be saved,
  44. unless We show them mercy and allow them to enjoy the benefits until a certain time.
  45. When they are told: “Fear what is before you and what is after you, so that you may receive mercy,” they do not answer.
  46. Whatever sign from the signs of their Lord comes to them, they certainly turn away from it.
  47. When they are told: “Spend from what Allah has provided you with,” the disbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed the one whom Allah would have fed if He had willed? Truly, you are only in obvious error."

  56. They and their spouses will lie in the shadows on couches, leaning against each other.
  57. There are fruits and everything they need there for them.
  58. The merciful Lord greets them with the word: “Peace!”
  59. Separate yourself today, O sinners!

Interesting facts about Surah Yasin

Surah Yasin Allah sent to Muhammad in Mecca. In this text, the Almighty informed the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) that he is the messenger of the Lord, and from the moment of revelation his task is to educate, teach and admonish the people vegetating in the abyss of polytheism. The surah also says about those who dare to disobey the instructions of Allah, who refuse to accept the Messenger - these unfortunate people will face severe punishment and universal censure.

The surah contains a retelling of a famous parable from the Koran. In ancient times, in the East there was a city in which pagans lived. One day, disciples of the Prophet Muhammad came to them and told them about faith and its principles. The townspeople rejected the messengers and expelled them. As punishment, Allah sent various troubles to the city.

Surah Yasin reminds us that the world was created by the Almighty and there are countless proofs of His power. Man is supposed to believe in Allah and fear Him. Retribution for sinful behavior is inevitable.

Those who believe in the Lord and recognize Muhammad as his prophet will find themselves in heaven. Hell awaits the apostates who reject the Messenger and are mute to his calls. One of the hadiths reports that Surah Yasin in Taurat is designated as “mun’imah”: this means that it contains knowledge that helps people in their earthly path and in the akhirat - that is, in the afterlife. The one who reads Surah Yasin will be spared troubles in both worlds, and the horror of akhirat (end, death) will remain unknown to him.

Another khasis says: “Whoever reads Surah Yasin only to make Allah pleased, all his previous sins will be forgiven. Therefore, recite this surah over your dead.” A Muslim who reads Yasin every day essentially dies every day, and dies like a true believer. Naturally, with so many deaths and resurrections, the fear of death becomes unknown to him.

You can download a video with a transcription of Surah Yasin into Russian, and you can listen to the prayer in its original sound in Arabic.

The colossal significance of Surah Yasin is confirmed by dozens of hadiths. One of them reports that if the surah is to be considered the heart of the Koran, its cornerstone. A believer who takes the recitation of Surah Yasin seriously can count on the help and love of Allah. The value of prayer is so high that in hadiths the recitation of Yasina is compared in its beneficial effects to reading the entire Book of Books ten times.

Another rivayast says that Allah read suras “Yasin” and “Taha” long before he created the heavens and the earth. The first to hear these sacred texts were the angels, who were amazed and said: “Happiness to the community to which this Koran will be sent down, and happiness to those hearts that will carry it, that is, learn it, and happiness to those languages that will read it.”

Another common name for Surah Yasin is “Rafi’a Hafida” or “raises up the believers”, “overthrows the unbelievers”. Let us remember the words of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him!): “My heart desires that this surah be in the heart of everyone from my community.” By reading Yasin, you can overcome fear, alleviate the condition of people who are preparing to depart to another world and who experience horror before death. The sura makes us aware of the horror that lies beyond our imagination, and opens up the only right path for a person. The one who reads Surah Yasin receives forgiveness of all sins, Allah mercifully accepts his do’a.

According to ancient tradition, believers wrote a surah on a piece of paper, then put the note in water and drank it. This simple action fills the human soul with genuine Light. Daily recitation of the sura is the path to the mercy of Allah, who will certainly reward a person with his blessing, send him barakah and fill his life with pleasant and good events.

Meaningful translation:

“Allah (God, Lord)… There is no god but Him, the eternally Living, Existing One. Neither sleep nor slumber will befall him. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and on the Earth. Who will intercede before Him, except according to His will!? He knows what has been and what will be. No one is able to comprehend even a particle of His knowledge, except by His will. Heaven and Earth are embraced by the Kursiya (Great Throne) of Him, and His concern for them [About everything that is in our galactic system] does not bother Him. He is the Most High [in all characteristics above everything and everyone], the Great [His greatness has no limits]!” (see, Holy Quran, Surah al-Baqarah, verse 255 (2:255)).

Interesting Facts

Ayat Al-Kursi is included in Surah Al-Baqarah (translated from Arabic as cow). According to the account in the sura, the 255th verse. It should be said right away that many prominent theologians believe that Al-Qusri is a separate surah, and not an verse. Be that as it may, the Messenger stated that the verse is key in the Koran; it contains the most important statement that distinguishes Islam from other religions - the dogma of monotheism. In addition, the verse provides evidence of the greatness and limitless essence of the Lord. In this sacred text, Allah is called “Ismi Azam” - this name is considered the most worthy name of God.

The greatness of the verse was confirmed by many great imams. In the collection of hadiths of Al-Bukhari, the benefits of reading Al-Kursi are described as follows: “Once, when Abu Hurayrah (radiallahu 'anhu) was guarding the collected zakat, he caught a thief who said to him: “Let me go and I will teach you these words which Allah will make useful for you!” Abu Hurayrah (radhiallahu 'anhu) asked: “What are these words?” He said: “When you go to bed, read “Ayat al-Kursi” from beginning to end, and a guardian from Allah will always be with you, and Satan will not be able to approach you until the morning!” Abu Hurayrah heeded these words and went with them to the Prophet. In response to the story of his student, the Prophet said: “He really told you the truth, despite the fact that he is a notorious liar!” And the Messenger informed Abu Hurair that the thief he had caught was none other than the Shaitan, who had taken on human form.

Another hadith recalls: “When Ayatul-Kursi was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), the Angel Jibraeel, surrounded by 70 thousand angels, conveyed this verse, saying that “Whoever sincerely reads it will receive a reward as for 70 years of service to the Almighty. And the one who reads Ayatul-Kursi before leaving the house will be surrounded by 1000 angels who will pray for his forgiveness.”

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, has repeatedly said that reading Al-Kursi is equivalent in its influence to reading ¼ of the Koran.

The most important purpose of the verse is to protect believers from those who trade in theft. If the verse is recited before entering a room, all the devils will run away from the house. When we read Al-Kursi over food or drink, we “charge” the food with blessing. Clothes illuminated by the light of a unique verse will be protected from thieves and the influence of the shaitan. A person who pronounces “Al-Kursi” protects himself from the tricks of the genies all day long.

The Koran says that for those who read the verse after performing the obligatory prayer, a place in Paradise has already been prepared, and it is separated from the heavenly booths only by the need to complete earthly existence. The verse “Al-Kursi” and the last lines of the famous surah “Al-Bakara” are perfectly combined. If you read these two texts one after another, your appeal to the Lord will definitely be heard.

On our website you can download a video with the verse, watch it and learn pronunciation. You need to read the sacred text from 33 to 99 times a day. To protect against jinn, the verse is read three times before going to bed. “Al-Kursi” is especially effective in cases where you have disturbing dreams.

Training video for correct pronunciation of verse Al Kursi

It is important to know: you should not read the Koran loudly in a chant, much less compete in it - otherwise, while you listen to such melodies, you will fall into a trance and will not understand the most important thing - the meaning that Allah conveyed to humanity for observing the Koran and reflecting on Its verses.

Surah Al-Baqarah

- the second and most voluminous in the Koran. The sacred text contains 286 verses that reveal the very essence of religion. The sura contains the teachings of Allah, the Lord's instructions to Muslims, and a description of how they should behave in various situations. In general, we can say that Surah Al-Bakara is a text that regulates the entire life of a believer. The document talks about almost everything: about revenge, about the distribution of inheritance between the relatives of the deceased, about the consumption of alcoholic beverages, about playing cards and dice. Much attention is paid to issues of marriage and divorce, the trading side of life, and relationships with debtors.

Al-Baqarah is translated from Arabic as “The Cow.” This name is associated with a parable that is given in the sura. The parable tells about the Israelite cow and Moses, peace be upon him. In addition, the text contains many stories about the life of the Prophet and his followers. Al-Baqarah directly states that the Quran is a guide in the life of a Muslim, which is given to him by the Almighty. In addition, the surah contains a mention of believers who have received favor from Allah, as well as those who have angered the Almighty with disobedience and a tendency to disbelief.

Let us remember the words of the Great Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Do not turn your houses into graves. Shaitan flees from the house where Surah Al Baqarah is being read.” This exceptionally high assessment of Surah “Cow” allows us to consider it the most important in the Koran. The enormous importance of the sura is also emphasized by another hadith: “Read the Koran, because on the Day of Resurrection he will come and intercede for his own. Read the two blossoming suras - suras “al-Baqarah” and “Ali Imran”, because on the Day of Resurrection they will appear like two clouds or two flocks of birds lined up in rows and will intercede for their own. Read Surah al-Baqarah, because in it there is grace and abundance, and without it there is sadness and annoyance, and sorcerers cannot cope with it.”

In Surah Al-Baqarah, the last 2 verses are considered the main ones:

  • 285. The Messenger and the believers believed in what was revealed to him from the Lord. They all believed in Allah, His angels, His Scriptures and His messengers. They say: “We make no distinction between His messengers.” They say: “We listen and obey! We ask for your forgiveness, our Lord, and we are about to come to you.”
  • 286. Allah does not impose on a person beyond his capabilities. He will receive what he has acquired, and what he has acquired will be against him. Our Lord! Don't punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place on us the burden that You placed on our predecessors. Our Lord! Don't burden us with what we can't do. Be lenient with us! Forgive us and have mercy! You are our Patron. Help us to prevail over unbelieving people.

In addition, the surah contains the verse “Al-Kursi”, which we cited above. The great meaning and incredible importance of Al-Kursi has been repeatedly emphasized by leading theologians, citing famous hadiths. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, calls on Muslims to be sure to read these verses, learn them, and teach them to their family members, wives and children. After all, the last two verses of “Al-Baqara” and “Al-Kursi” are a direct appeal to the Almighty.

Interesting facts about Surah Al-Fatihah

Undoubtedly, Surah Al-Fatihah is the greatest Surah of the Quran. This is confirmed by the epithets that are commonly used to designate this unique text: “Opener of the Book,” “Mother of the Koran,” etc. The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him!) repeatedly pointed out the special significance and value of this surah. For example, the Prophet said the following: “Whoever has not read the Opening Book (i.e., Surah al-Fatihah) has not prayed.” In addition, the following words belong to him: “Whoever makes a prayer without reading the Opening Book in it, then it is not complete, not complete, not complete, not finished.” In this hadith, special attention is drawn to the threefold repetition of the word “not complete.” The Prophet designed the phrase in such a way as to enhance the impact on the listener, to emphasize that without reading Al-Fatiha, the prayer may not reach the Almighty.

Every Muslim should know that Surah Al-Fatiha is an indispensable element of prayer. The text fully deserves the honor of being placed before any sura of the Koran. “Al-Fatiha” is the most read surah in the Islamic world; verses from it are recited constantly and in each of the rakats.

One of the hadiths claims that the Almighty will reward the person who reads Surah Al-Fatihah to the same extent as the person who reads 2/3 of the Quran. Another hadith quotes the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him!): “I received 4 things from the special treasures of the Arsh (Throne), from which no one has ever received anything. These are Surah “Fatiha”, “Ayatul Kursi”, the last verses of Surah “Bakara” and Surah “Kausar”. The colossal significance of Surah Al-Fatiha is emphasized by the following hadith: “Four times Iblis had to grieve, cry and tear out his hair: the first when he was cursed, the second when he was driven from heaven to earth, the third when the Prophet (sallallahu ' Alaihi wa sallam) received the fourth prophecy when Surah Fatihah was revealed.”

“Muslim Sharif” contains one very revealing hadith, which quotes the words of the Great Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Today one of the doors of heaven opened, which had never been opened before. And from it came down one angel who had never before descended. And the angel said: “Receive the good news of two nurahs that have never been given to anyone before. One is Surah Fatiha, and the second is the end of Surah Baqarah (the last three verses).

What attracts attention in this hadith first of all? Of course, the fact that the suras “Fatiha” and “Bakara” are called “nurs” in it. Translated from Arabic, this word means “light.” On the Day of Judgment, when Allah will judge people for their earthly path, the read suras will become a light that will attract the attention of the Almighty and allow Him to separate the righteous from the sinners.

Al-Fatihah is ismi A'zam, that is, a text that should be read in any situation. Even in ancient times, doctors noticed that the sura written in rose oil on the bottom of porcelain dishes made the water extremely healing. The patient needs to be given water for 40 days. In a month he will feel relief, God willing. To improve the condition of toothache, headache, and stomach cramps, the surah must be read exactly 7 times.
