This fact is known to scientists, and it is currently used to solve problems in the field of satellite navigation, geodesy, astronautics, astrophysics and other related sciences. If gravity is measured 100 km from the mountains, then the plumb line (that is, a weight on a string) will deviate in their direction. Such a deviation from the vertical is invisible to our eye, but it is easily detected by devices. A similar picture is observed everywhere: the deviations of the plumb line are somewhere greater, somewhere they are less. And we remember that the geoid surface is always perpendicular to the plumb line. From this it becomes clear that the geoid is a very complex figure. In order to better imagine it, you can do the following: sculpt a ball out of clay, then squeeze it on both sides to form a flattening, then make bumps and dents on the resulting ellipsoid with your fingers. Such a flattened crumpled ball will show the shape of our planet quite realistically.
Why do you need to know the exact shape of the Earth?
Why is it necessary to know so precisely its shape? What does the spherical shape of the Earth not satisfy with scientists? Should we complicate the picture with a geoid and an ellipsoid of revolution? Yes, there is an urgent need for this: shapes close to the geoid help create the most accurate grids. Neither astronomical research, nor geodetic surveys, nor various satellite navigation systems (GLONASS, GPS) can exist and be carried out without determining a fairly accurate shape of our planet.
Different coordinate systems

For example, the Needles Lighthouse, located near Hampshire in the UK, whose height is 54 meters, is visible at a distance of up to 60 kilometers, and the curvature of the earth at this distance is 282 meters. It turns out that the point where the lighthouse is located should be 282 meters below the horizon if the earth is spherical. But this does not happen - the lighthouse is visible from such a distance.
The same situation is with ships that are on the high seas, and we are looking at them from the shore. The illusion is created that moving away from the coast, the ship disappears behind the horizon, which seems to confirm that the spherical earth has a bend.
However, if we take good equipment and adjust the magnifying zoom, the vessel, "disappearing beyond the horizon" will reappear in our field of vision. That is, our vision is limited by the point of dispersion of perspective, and not by the horizon line. If you "arm the eye", then there will be no horizon line limiting visibility due to the curvature of the earth.
All photographs from space are deception, the sky is a dome, stars and the sun, and indeed the whole world is artificial. Airplane portholes give the illusion of rounding off the ground, but this is an optical illusion. Look at the UN coat of arms, is this a flat earth model?
Flights to the moon: true or grandiose deception

Have you seen pictures from the Red Planet - a rocky lifeless place? The fact is that if you pass them through the Photoshop filter, you will see that in these pictures it is quite a terrestrial surface, over which the blue sky stretches. Such landscapes can be found in many regions of our planet.
Air routes
Some seemingly counterintuitive air travel is easy to explain using flat earth theory. For example, from Sydney () to Santiago (Latin America) it is convenient to fly directly with refueling, for example, in New Zealand. But in reality, the route passes through North America.
If you look at a round globe, it turns out that the plane in this case makes a strange angle. And if you transfer the same route to a flat earth map, you can see that this is a straight, adequate path.
This can be verified on almost any route, applied to a flat earth map, it becomes clear that such a flight path is very logical and adequate, which cannot be said about them when applied to a spherical model.
Moon, sun, stars
The picture will be incomplete without understanding what it really is (or not in reality, but according to the adherents of the flat earth theory) the moon, sun and stars. Here again we see the statement that all photographs “on the moon” are taken on the ground.
The Flat Earth Society even conducts special expeditions, the purpose of which is to find places on our planet where supposedly space photographs are taken. During such an expedition to Iceland in August 2015, they filmed landscapes exactly the same as the pictures and videos that we are told they were taken on the moon.
The astronauts participating in the Apollo program (recall that this was the first manned landing on the Moon, which ended in 1975), one and all, refused to swear in the Bible that they were indeed on the Moon. Fragments of this video are not hard to find on the Internet. Some of the astronauts swear, some evade the answer, someone rudely sends a journalist who asks to swear on the Bible about the reality of walking on the lunar surface.

Now let's turn to the stars. It is known that astrology is the oldest science and many constellations, for example Ursa Major, were discovered thousands of years ago. And during this time the constellations have not changed in any way. Isn't it strange if all bodies in space are constantly moving at huge different speeds?
In addition, if the Earth is constantly revolving around its axis, and even around the sun, then why do we see the same stars above our heads on starry nights? But let's see how the flat-earth believers explain this.
The fact is that the sun cannot have such a color as we see it (from yellow to red). Indeed, according to the official theory, the blue color of the sky is due to the fact that the light of the sun, passing through the atmosphere, is divided into spectra and one of the spectra (blue-blue) colors the sky in this color. Why then does the sun itself appear yellow?
Since we see it through the atmosphere, it should also be colored blue, like the sky. Does this mean that we do not see the sun through the atmosphere? The sun is not above the atmosphere, but much lower and is it not real? What is the end result?
