What are professional competitions for teachers. Participation in competitions as an essential condition for pedagogical self-education

Report: "Improving pedagogical skills through the participation of a teacher in professional competitions"

A modern teacher needs to constantly improve the level of his professional competencies: subject, methodological, communicative, informational, general cultural, legal.

Based on the modern requirements for a teacher, the school determines the main ways of developing his professional competence:

  • Work in methodological associations, creative or problem groups (school and municipal levels).
  • The innovative activity of the teacher.
  • Participation in competitions of professional skills, master classes, forums, festivals, etc.
  • Generalization and dissemination of their own teaching experience.

Pedagogical skill contests are one of the means of improving teacher professionalism. They create a favorable motivational environment for the professional development of teachers, the dissemination of innovative experience, and contribute to professional self-determination. Each competition has its own meaning.

The importance of competitions in the life of a teacher can be fully understood by those who themselves once took part in a professional competition, who were in a support group, helped with advice or deed. By and large, victories and prizes are not so important - the very atmosphere of intellectual tension, unity, the atmosphere of co-creation is important. Such events require enormous intellectual costs. After all, they give rise to confidence in their own strengths and push forward.

You can treat the competitions in different ways, accept them or not accept them, support or ignore them, but I think it is difficult to deny that the situation of the competition is the mobilization of internal resources, the need for accurate timing, enormous psychological stress.

The positive aspects of the contests include:

1.development of teachers' competencies, development of creative potential, involvement in research activities;

2. development of an active life position, communication skills, striving for self-improvement, self-knowledge, self-actualization;

3. creation of a favorable motivational environment for the professional development of teachers;

4. introduction of new pedagogical technologies in the municipal education sector;

There are professional skills and costs in competitions:

1. problems in the organization of the working day, tk. not enough time;

2.stressiness, tension of the situation, which can bring not only recognition and success, but also failure

Preparation and participation in competitions become a real school for improving the level of pedagogical competence.

Of course, competitions of pedagogical skills reveal original, non-traditional approaches to teaching and raising children, stimulate pedagogical creativity, and provide an opportunity to present not only one's own experience, but also to get acquainted with the developments of colleagues. Every year I get this experience by speaking at school and city pedagogical readings, participating in correspondence competitions and conferences, school competitions.

I would especially like to say about the All-Russian Festival of Pedagogical Ideas "Open Lesson", where each of us, teachers, can post their works on the website of the publishing house "September 1" and exchange experience in the network of creative teachers. All this contributes to professional development, the achievement of a higher level of importance in the teaching community.

It should be noted that competitions of pedagogical skills allow the teacher to "go" outside the educational institution, to comprehend what is happening in a modern school, to predict professional development and to design their further pedagogical activities aimed at professional achievements.

The development of professionalism is a long-term process of mastering a profession; but if a teacher is not indifferent to his work, is able to react sensitively to any changes in the educational process, is in a stream of innovations and creative search, participates in professional skills competitions and thereby sets an example for his pupils, he will certainly be successful! So, today the professional development of a teacher is considered one of the main factors for the success of his work.

Success Stories Nomination (Pedagogical Portfolio)

During the academic year, I prepared the winner of the regional competition "Stone Belt - 2016": he took 1st place in the II round and 3rd place in the III round of the competition. He, like 6 other schoolchildren, were honored to represent the Sverdlovsk region at the All-Russian competition of research works of local lore "Fatherland" (Moscow) in the nomination "Military history". All these guys were winners and prize-winners of the regional competition "Stone Belt - 2016". According to the results of the performance in Moscow, 1 participant became a prize-winner, the rest - diploma winners and participants, my ward became a prize-winner, taking 4th place.

The guys got a huge experience of speaking and defending in new conditions, took part in the discussion of other protections, got acquainted with the guys from different cities and towns, learned to ask questions and participate in dialogue, including with higher school teachers.

What do such contests give to children?

  1. Indeed, the best children get into such contests. They are active, inquisitive, learn well, think positively. As a rule, they know how to stand out in public, do not get lost in an unfamiliar audience, enter into a dialogue and support it.
  2. In the process of work and subsequent performance, the guys gain experience in research activities. They master the structure of scientific work, which will help them in the future to actively realize themselves not only in school, but also further in educational and independent life.
  3. Participation in such contests, contests, has a positive effect on the development of the child. Here, in an atmosphere of healthy competition, he is given the opportunity to see and hear other performances, to meet his peers from different regions of Russia from Kaliningrad and Sevastopol to Gorny Altai and Kalmykia.

What do these contests give teachers?

  1. Our teacher's piggy bank is updated with new knowledge about the structure of school research work.
  2. We see the pros and cons of works and their protection.
  3. We learn new topics, this can become a "hint" for new research works.
  4. We communicate with scientists, teachers of higher education, who pass on their valuable experience in scientific work, updated for secondary school.

Recommendations for teachers on working on projects (from the experience of participating in the All-Russian competition)

  1. The first step in working on a project or research is choosing a topic. First you need to decide on the interests of the child to whom you want to offer a job. Perhaps he already has some specific suggestions (not without reason, your choice fell on him).
  2. Next, you need to find any contradiction in the chosen topic, in other words, find a problem that you and your child will solve. Try to find a "narrow" topic, not generalize. Also, do not strive for beautiful literary general wording of topics. The following topics look bad: "Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten" or "Military equipment during such and such a war." They are too general, big. A child cannot know everything on this topic, and when they start asking him questions on defense, he cannot cope with it. Lending a topic is the first task of a researcher.
  3. Look carefully at the name of the competition. So, now local history is very popular, then look for a topic on the material of your native land. Or, each year is declared the year of something or someone. It is also a helpful hint for the educator.
  4. Let's go back to the work plan: we chose a topic, we were able to find a contradiction and a problem. Start working on your work plan. Define the object and subject of research. The object is what the research will be directed to. This is a broad concept: a phenomenon, social groups, problem situations or processes. A subject is a narrower concept to which your particular research is directed. The subject reveals new relationships, properties of the object. For example, the object of research is the war pages of history. The subject of research is the biography of a specific person in a specific historical period.
  5. Need to define one (!) goal and multiple tasks research. A goal is a concrete result, scientific and practical. Defining objectives will help you present all the sequential stages of the study from start to finish.
  6. Hypothesis! At the Fatherland competition, the chairman of the jury told us that there is no need to define a hypothesis. After all, a student is not a scientist, does not write a real scientific work and cannot find scientifically based knowledge. So you can do without a hypothesis! (Although this opinion is also subjective: if you have a hypothesis, put it forward!).
  7. The work should include the following points: introduction, research methodology, research results and their discussion, conclusions, conclusion, list of sources and used literature.
  8. Design and research work is part of extracurricular activities for teacher and student. It requires costs: temporary, personal, but it also pays off many times over. It is necessary to explain to students that doing research activities is the path to their own development, which gives the child a lot.

How to arrange a research paper correctly?

In the introduction the choice of the topic is substantiated, the purpose of the work and the ways of achieving it, the chronological framework of the research are determined Here you can briefly talk about the literature that was used in the study of the topic (it can be "Literature Review" or "Historical Review").

The main body of the researchusually consists of 2-3 chapters covering the topic. It is important to reveal the topic, restore, reconstruct the history of the object of research, show the new that you have introduced into the topic.

At the end of each chapter it is worth doing summary conclusions, which are short answers to the questions posed in the tasks. And in conclusion summarize and show the historical and cultural value of the data presented, draw conclusions about the role of the event being studied, a monument for the history of the city, region, etc.

Applications are necessary and even obligatory for any research work. These can be copies of archival documents, photographs, maps, etc.

The work is completed by a list of used literature. There are always a lot of inaccuracies and mistakes here. In alphabetical order, authors, book titles, publisher, number of pages are indicated. (I would advise you to contact your fellow historians, they were the ones who gave me the correct plan for the list of references).

The text of the work should contain references to sources and literature. A large amount of factual and numerical data, as well as pictures, diagrams, diagrams, maps, photographs, etc. can be added to the end of the work - in applications. All appendices should be numbered and titled, and references should be made in the text of the work.

  • "Two camps - two childhoods" (comparison of a pioneer camp and a modern camp)
  • The story of one mistake (the fate of a person during the Great Patriotic War)
  • The first special forces in Mytishchi
  • History of the evacuation hospital (in a specific locality)
  • Work dedicated to baking bread in the village of the Chelyabinsk region
  • The history of the native school (over half a century, in persons, etc.)
  • Kalmyk gold pattern
  • Mari children's holiday
  • Ethnography of the Russian house: "We remember the old days, we honor the old days."

The article used materials of the conference, presentations of Ph.D. NA Chesnokova "Methodology for preparing work for the All-Russian competition of research works" Fatherland ".

Do I need to participate in competitions of pedagogical skills

Competition, Competition, Competition…

Competition of teaching excellence... Do you need it? What is its significance? Participate in the competition not everyone can and wants to. Perhaps - because of his insecurity, modesty. Make the teacher you cannot participate in the competition... But you need to direct. See the flavor of the creative teacher skills, point out the positive and negative sides in it teaching activities, but indicate with advice how to do better, correct incorrect methodological techniques, this is the role of the leader, who gives recommendations to the teacher for participation in the competition of teaching skills.

Mastery teachers must constantly "Grind"... Not you have to be afraid to try. Must always learn from your proven materials. Foreign material is not always acceptable. Therefore, I believe that you need to participate in competitions. The competition is a pedagogical workshopwhere business tools are knowledge and skills, methods and techniques that the teacher is fluent in. This is the significance of competitionthat he is raising a teacher, gives him the opportunity to show himself, and most importantly to see others.

A lot of responsibility rests with the jury members competition... This is where their competence is tested for knowledge of techniques, basics educators and psychologists. Competition teaches them to analyze, compare, teaches them to see the main thing and distinguish from the secondary, and also gives them the opportunity for their growth in pedagogical and methodological plan.

The relevance and originality of the presented development on competition... What does this mean? Firstly, the material must correspond to the time, the audience, the chosen topic. Secondly, everything should have beauty, originality, and a creative component. The teacher, who has chosen the topic that he wants to reveal in the lesson, must master the material perfectly. I have to get used to this topic myself, in all the material of the lesson. He must be competent in setting goals and objectives. The logical beginning must have a logical ending. The summary of the lesson for the teacher should be open, complete, detailed. But he should not read it in the lesson on a piece of paper. That's why he competitive! There should be a whole theatrical performance, where everyone plays their own specific role.

In the process of transition to the federal state educational standard (FSES) a lot is changing, and first of all, the methods and techniques of presenting educational material in the classroom. The teacher should present the material in such a way that from the first minute the children become interested, see the very interconnection of the teacher's words. And then they themselves will formulate the topic of the lesson. The growth of their interest, their desire for knowledge, for the comprehension of new things will increase.

There are many techniques, methods and techniques for presenting new material. Nobody canceled the old one, but imposing the new one is also not need. Gotta try new, do not be afraid of mistakes, but try not to make them.

For the material to be interesting, it must be rich in interesting, necessary, important, timely information. Why does the teacher read from a piece of paper? Bad memory? Or does he not rely on himself? This is where just reference words are needed. If the teacher, and not only, each of us, knows what he wants to say, he does not need to read, teach the lesson on a piece of paper. But the lesson plan is needed, it is not canceled. The lesson plan, the actions of the teacher and students are laid down in the technological map (according to the Federal State Educational Standard)... When planning a lesson, the teacher plays it in advance. Mastery teacher is that it should be masterwho could teach something, and teach beautifully.

Why is one word sometimes enough to restore the whole event? Why, something is remembered easily and quickly?

When, during the explanation, the teacher attunes the children to his "Wave", organizes educational activities in such a way that each student is visible, involved in the educational process, then the motivation of children's activities increases, interest increases, and the desire to know more grows.

The effectiveness of the application in the educational process. What is it?

First, there must be constant novelty and practical value for children. The relationship between theory and practice. Constantly lives in the lesson question: "Where can this come in handy?"... And if the teacher can give an answer and direction to a higher level for any child's question, then we can talk about the effectiveness of the lesson. To say that the topic was fully disclosed, but even if not completely, even if not all doors are open to knowledge, but, most importantly, the child's craving for knowledge, for the constant study of new things, awakened.

What comes first, theoretical material or presentation? In my opinion, theoretical material is primary, it plays a dominant role. Modern ICT technologies decorate educational material, teach to highlight the main thing, schematically represent it in the form of tables, graphs, statements, photographs, various pictures taken from the Internet or created independently. Having one and the other option, the ways of presentation of the material by the teacher to the children, or simply speaking in front of an audience, increase.

It is equally important to overcome your soul anxiety when performing at competition... Mentality is very important at the moment.

And most importantly, the teacher himself is constantly learning. There are no people who know everything, in some matters a person is incompetent, but you have to be able to admit it, to be able to recognize with honor, with a great desire to learn new, unfamiliar and comprehend the joy of the learned.

Walking high through life

Comprehending new things again.

Raise the bar, catch your dream.

In my opinion, this is the main thing!

2016 - 2017 academic year was fruitful in participation of district teachers in competitions of professional skills at various levels... Whether full-time competition or correspondence(remote, he requires the teacher a lot:

Knowledge of your subject;

Knowledge of teaching methods;

Possession of various technologies;

Constant creative search, unwillingness to stand in one place.

Competition shows the inner core of the teacher, teaches to comprehend pedagogical heights. Participate in the competition not only because of material considerations, but also because of mental aspirations for creativity, at the same time becoming a beacon for the younger generation, being at the same time the successor of all the best that the generation of elders has achieved, who are mentors for the young - this is the main thing.

Report: "Improving pedagogical skills through the participation of a teacher in professional competitions"

KD Ushinsky's assertion that a teacher lives as long as he studies, in modern conditions acquires special significance. The professional growth educator strives to make himself known to the general public in order to improve teaching skills and disseminate his work experience. Competitions of pedagogical achievements help to realize these tasks facing a creative teacher.
For a teacher, participation in the competition means an opportunity to demonstrate their achievements in professional pedagogical activity, present the results of their work with students, joint work with parents, and the local community.
Participation in the competition is a kind of stop, a look at your activities from the outside. Each teacher has an opportunity to show that he is a modern teacher, because he uses modern educational technologies, including information and communication; summarizes and disseminates his own pedagogical experience, primarily at the district level (master classes, presentations of work experience, open lessons and events, public hearings, round tables, etc.), and subsequently at the city and other levels, thus improving their qualifications and improving craftsmanship.

The application for participation in the competition requires a certain courage and professional skills from the teacher. And this is greatly influenced by the previous accumulated experience of the teacher of participation in such events, the availability of methodological support both in an educational institution and in regional methodological centers.

  1. development of teachers' competencies, development of creative potential, involvement in research activities;
  2. development of an active life position, communication skills, striving for self-improvement, self-knowledge, self-actualization;
  3. creating a favorable motivational environment for the professional development of teachers;
  4. the introduction of new pedagogical technologies in the municipal education sector;
  5. increasing the rating not only of an individual teacher, but also of the school as a whole, etc.

There are professional skills and costs in competitions:

  1. problems in the organization of the working day, because not enough time;
  2. stressfulness, tension of the situation, which can bring not only recognition and success, but also failure

The development of professionalism is a long-term, unfolded process of mastering a profession; but if a teacher is not indifferent to his work, is able to react sensitively to any changes in the educational process, is in a stream of innovations and creative search, participates in professional skills competitions and thereby sets an example for his pupils, he will certainly be successful! So, today the professional development of a teacher is considered one of the main factors for the success of his work.

Summing up, I would like to emphasize once again that professional competitions are not only shows of pedagogical talents, they help to maintain the prestige of the profession, give a new impetus for creativity in this field. Participation in them, as a rule, brings the contestants to a new professional level, they seem to receive another education: the level of their pedagogical skills rises, their career progresses, and respect among colleagues grows.

Well, and the main postulate remains indisputable: where the Teacher is successful, the Disciple is also successful. Good luck, colleagues!

Working with children is one of those activities, the results of which appear gradually. It was as if a piece of plasticine fell into the hands of the teacher, from which, step by step, step by step, the details of a single composition appear. But, as in any profession, a kindergarten teacher wants to see a more "concentrated" result so that both children and colleagues - and in a broader sense and society as a whole - recognize his work as worthless. And for this, professional competitions are held at the municipal, federal, and All-Russian levels.

To participate or not to participate?

It is interesting. The great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy said: "If a teacher combines love for work and for students, he is a perfect teacher."

Working in a kindergarten, one cannot but love children. But it is also impossible to do without theoretical knowledge of the methodology for working with them. It is the combination of these two sides of one coin that determines pedagogical excellence. But the almost Hamlet question torments those kindergarten teachers who were offered or strongly recommended to participate in the municipal competition of pedagogical skills. By the way, this choice arises precisely before the first stage - the municipal one, since in case of victory, the decision to participate in the competition at the federal level no longer arises: a teacher who has at least a minimum of professional ambitions will not give up such a prospect. And then what? Further, if successful, - the all-Russian stage. And even if there is no prize, the levels already passed will provide

  • the experience of pleasant and useful communication with colleagues (you must agree, a great bonus for those who are called upon to teach kids to be relevant and in-demand members of today's society);
  • advantages in passing certification (these points are established at the level of the municipality);
  • increase in wages (one-time or for a certain period, which is also determined by the municipal and / or federal education authorities);
  • career growth (to obtain the position of a methodologist or head of a children's educational institution, participation, and even more victory, is not a mandatory, but desirable point).

Types and forms of competitions for educators

In order not to get lost in the variety of competitions of pedagogical skills, we will try to systematize them a little. So, there are 2 types of competitions:

  • traditional;
  • non-traditional, which are held at irregular intervals, depending on the initiative of the sponsor or a group of organizers.

Let's dwell on the first view. So, traditional competitions in form can be

  • face-to-face (the participant competes in real time, here and now);
  • correspondence (the teacher at the appointed time - usually several days are given for this - sends a report on the work done, the development of a lesson or program, etc.);
  • remote (the applicant sends the required materials via the Internet and is also notified of the results via the network).

As for the first two, high-level contests, for example, "Educator of the Year of Russia", use full-time and part-time forms. This is due, firstly, to the fact that usually this event is quite long - from the moment of application to the announcement of the results, it takes up to 9 months. Do not forget that the All-Russian competition is preceded by municipal and federal stages. Secondly, the participants can be from different parts of the country. But with distance (online) competitions, everything is much simpler: you send the required application, work, after a while the organizers publish the results, the winners (as a rule, there are several of them) receive diplomas, and the participants certificates (usually both for a small fee ). Thus, participation in distance competitions gives you wide popularity in narrow circles and excellent experience in systematizing the fruits of your methodological work. In addition, they are held quite often, providing information about the conditions on the sites http://pedrazvitie.ru, http://edu-time.ru. The All-Russian competition provides louder fame, since there is only one winner (at all levels), and also allows you to fully express yourself. Because the program usually includes not only methodological questions, but also contests that allow them to show their talents.

Overview of federal competitions for professionals

There are not so many large competitions of the all-Russian scale.

"Educator of the Year of Russia"

This professional competition is rightfully considered the most prestigious professional competition for employees of preschool institutions. The competition dates back to 2010. Since then, there have been some changes regarding the regulations on the competition, the procedure for selecting winners (now there is one absolute winner and winners in several nominations), as well as the conditions for participation. As for the latter, for example, winners and participants cannot apply for the competition for the next 5 years. The competition is held in 2 stages, the conditions for participation are identical, with the only difference that only winners at the regional level have the right to participate in the final stage.
