Merunes Dagon (God of Destruction): A known power from among the Daedra. It is associated with natural hazards such as fire, earthquakes and floods. In some cultures, however, Dagon is simply the god of bloodshed and betrayal. He is a particularly important deity in Morrowind, where he is associated with his terrain so unsuitable for life.

Mehrunes Dagon is the enemy of all mortal races, and has repeatedly tried to take over the physical world of Nirn. The main reason for all of the Prince's intrigues is his belief that Tamriel is another Oblivion plan that belongs only to him. Since then, Dagon has made constant attempts to invade Tamriel.

The most famous Dagon intervention in the fate of Morrowind was, of course, the attack on the capital city of Mournhold at the end of the First Era. Only after the Prince destroyed the whole city and massacred its population, the living gods, namely, managed to prevail over him. Mehrunes Dagon was also behind the destruction of Ald Sotha; along with the city, the House of Sotha also disappeared. During the years 389-399. In the third era, Lord Dagon conspired with the aspiring Imperial battlemage Jagar Tharn. The Emperor was imprisoned in the Oblivion plan while Tharn, assuming the guise of an emperor, took his place and ruled the Empire. In addition, Dagon also assisted Tharn by attacking the Imperial Battle College in Battlespire.

This attempt to take over Tamriel was stopped by ordinary mortals. Reflecting on many of his defeats, Dagon ultimately devises a new plan to take over Tamriel. This resulted in. With the help of the servants of the Mythic Dawn, the Emperor and all his heirs were killed, but there was another one, unknown to anyone and who managed to survive. This heir, the Blades, and the hero of Kvatch defeated Dagon over and over again until the moment of the main attack, when the Prince of Destruction collapsed and was banished back to Oblivion by Akatosh himself.

Invasion of Morrowind

Only flames were now blazing where the courtyard of Mournhold used to be, blazing and billowing to the clouds.

Karlovac Townway

Following the destruction of the city of Gilverdale in Valenwood by the Daedric Prince Molag Bal, Lord Sotha Sil visits Coldharbour. He makes a deal with eight of the most influential:, Mehrunes Dagon, and. The terms of the treaty were such that during the war between Morrowind and Cyrodiil, Daedric princes would not respond to their call with mortals unless witches or wizards performed the ceremony.

However, the former master spy still managed to summon Mehrunes Dagon, infuriating one of the Skeffington Coven's witches in High Rock. The witch wanted revenge on the Duke of Morrowind, while the spy only wanted to see the suffering of all of Morrowind. Mehrunes Dagon went even further and destroyed Mournhold in one of the most devastating attacks ever recorded by historians. However, Dagon was ultimately banished back to Oblivion by the combined powers of the gods Almalexia and Sotha Sil. Mournhold was completely destroyed. The Duke of Morrowind is slain. A new city was built right on top of the ruins of the destroyed Mournhold.

In addition, Dagon is also responsible for the destruction of the ancient Dunmer House of Sot, Ald Sotha, a city that was reportedly also the birthplace of Sotha Sil. Probably, here the personal army of Mehrunes Dagon, the Force of Destruction, somehow took part.

Imperial Simulacrum

He conspired with Jagar Tharn against the Empire in days gone by.

During Jagar Tharn made a deal with Mehrunes Dagon, it is also said that he provided all possible assistance, although he did not take part in subsequent events.

Battlespire attack

After the Miracle of Peace, when the huge Numidium machine was rebuilt and destroyed again, Mehrunes Dagon invades Tamriel, attacking first the fortified Battlespire, which served as the final test site for the graduates of the Imperial College of Battle Mages. The unknown disciple found himself at the very epicenter of the Daedric invasion. It was this hero who was able to thwart the plans of the Prince of Destruction.

Mehrunes Dagon attacked the Imperial Warmage stronghold, Battlespire. Tarn needed to destroy the citadel at all costs in order to eliminate the threat to his rule by taking place. However, the Prince of Destruction had a secret plan to enslave all of Tamriel. Due to the fact that the Prince and his Daedric army could not so easily cross the line separating the two worlds, they captured many smaller dimensions and, of course, Battlespire himself, which later became the main gateway to the mortal world. Dangerous Shadow, the kingdom of the Daedric prince Nocturnal, was also part of the invasion plans. Two lieutenants, Jasiel Morgen and Deianeira Katrice, were severely affected by Dagon's invasion army.

And although Battlespire did fall, an unknown apprentice managed to expel Mehrunes to Oblivion. The hero used the Prince's pronoun and neonymy, and then dealt the decisive blow with a powerful Daedric blade forged from Dagon's own essence, the Broadsword of the Moon Reiver. This destroyed the anchor linking Dagon to the mortal plane, and the Prince was banished back to Oblivion. However, the magic anchors that supported the flying fortress were also destroyed, so Battlespire fell with the expulsion of Mehrunes.

Another artifact worthy of mention during the chaos was the Daedric Crescent. These blades were used to equip Dagon's invasion army. At the end of these events, however, she declared this weapon illegal, thereby making the rare artifact very much in demand among collectors.

Oblivion Crisis

During this time, Dagon became the main driving force. He planned to destroy the Septim bloodline, open Oblivion gates throughout Cyrodiil, and launch an invasion. His motives are still not entirely clear; members of the Mythic Dawn, a cult of the Prince's servants, have said that Dagon's plan begins with Nirn. These fanatics did much to bring the hour of their god's arrival closer - they killed the Emperor and his three famous heirs. The cult has put the Eternal Dawn at the forefront, with which Dagon will come in order to cleanse the world of all dissidents. In his quest to reclaim the Amulet of Kings and disrupt Dagon's plans, the Champion of Cyrodiil had to take possession of the Mysterium Zarxa book, written by Mehrunes himself, opening a portal to Mankar Camoran's Paradise. The Crisis culminated in the brief but terrible appearance of a gigantic four-armed humanoid armed with an ax and claws.

Appearance and meaning in Tamriel

Before the mortal world, Mehrunes Dagon appeared as a huge demonic creature with red skin, yellow eyes and four hands, in one of which he held a deadly weapon, and metal claws protruded from the others. Dagon's bald skull was studded with six horns, and gold rings were visible on pointed ears. His entire body was covered with scars and ritual symbols. The lower and upper jaws had characteristic sharp canines, the neck and shoulders were protected by a special disc. Claws protruded on his arms and legs, with which he pressed and tore his enemies apart.

Mehrunes Dagon is also one of the Four Corners of the House of Concerns. This pantheon includes, Mehrunes Dagon, and. These Daedric princes rebelled against, giving rise to bitter ancestral struggles and divisions among the tribes and Great Houses. They are sacred in that they act as barriers during the Trial. Over time, they began to be perceived by the local population as enemies, along with the Nords, Akaviri and Mountain Orcs. According to the book "", Mehrunes Dagon is associated with natural disasters such as fires, earthquakes and floods. To some extent, he is the embodiment of the austerity of the lands of Morrowind. Dagon tests the Dunmer for survival and tenacity.

In 201, the last Dragonborn restored the artifact to its former power, Razor of Mehrunes. Having passed the test, the hero proved that he can become the protector of the Prince and the owner of this weapon.

Artifacts

Daedric Crescent

Daedric Crescent

The Daedric Crescent is a Daedric artifact forged by Prince Mehrunes Dagon. The weapon has the ability to destroy armor and paralyze its enemies. During the time, the entire army of Dagon was armed with similar crescents, but after the destruction of the Battlespire, every single one was destroyed.

In 3E 427, the last Crescent was found by the Nerevarine. The artifact belonged to a Dremora named Lord Dregas Volar, who dwells in the Daedric sanctuary of Magas Volar, whose halls can only be accessed by teleportation. from Tel Fira just did have an amulet that will move anyone who wears it to a secret sanctuary. The Nerevarine used the amulet and killed Volar, thereby taking possession of the last known Daedric crescent.

Mehrunes' razor

Mehrunes' razor

Another famous artifact of Mehrunes Dagon is Mehrunes' Razor. This mysterious artifact is capable of instantly killing a victim, and therefore is highly valued among the assassins. Dagon once rewarded Daggerfall's hero with this powerful weapon after he completed a mission to destroy the pesky Frost Atronach.

Decades later, the Nerevarine found the blade in a terrible state, after which Mehrunes Dagon, in his sanctuary of Yasammidan, returned the artifact to its former greatness. The blade is shaped like a jagged dagger that traps the slain's soul in Oblivion. The razor was once granted to Msiri Feitang, the former protector of Dagon, but after failing to complete some task, the owner and the artifact were buried in the Broken Crag Outpost.

After the events, a number of groups were formed to fight. They who called themselves the keepers of the Razor found and shattered the razor into three parts. Almost two hundred years later, the artifact will be re-found and collected by the Dragonborn.

Mysterium Zarx

In the name of the Nine! It's dangerous to hold such a thing even in your hands!

Martin Septim

Page from Mysterium Zarx

A sacred book of the Mythic Dawn, written with razors and tempered in the fires of blood and death. Compiled by Dagon himself and transmitted by him to Mankar Camoran. The contents of the book can only be understood by the initiated, but it includes a passage about domination and enslavement, which Camoran read to his students. Mankar later wrote a collection of four volumes as commentaries on Zarks. Members of the cult kept and read these books, and the potential participant had to decipher the hidden code in the text, thereby proving his commitment to serving Lord Dagon. Solving the code will allow you to find the secret sanctuary of Mehrunes, this test is called the "Path of Dawn". As of now, the only known mention of the Mysterium of Zarx is a piece of a burnt page belonging to Sil Vesul.

It may take a long time, but it is very possible to defeat Mehrunes Dagon in The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. He just has a huge reserve of health, but this is real. Since the player is not supposed to be able to kill him in the usual way, his body after death will not look like a rag doll, but, on the contrary, will begin to "melt".

After the character reaches level 20, a messenger will find him in any settlement in Skyrim and convey an invitation to visit the Museum of the "Mythic Dawn" in Dawnstar from a certain Force Vesul.

Important: At this point, it is worth saving in two different slots! The game can crash 10 seconds after receiving the invitation, and the most recent save is damaged. If this happens, it will be enough to load the penultimate save and continue the game.

Visit the museum and talk to its owner

The museum is located on the eastern edge of Dawnstar Harbor. Sil will meet Dovahkiin at the door and offer to go and admire the exposition. He himself will act as a guide.

He will talk about the Oblivion crisis in Tamriel and the role played in this by the Mythic Dawn cult, which worshiped the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon. After the expulsion of Mehrunes back to Oblivion, the organization was persecuted and was almost completely destroyed by a group calling itself the "Razor Keepers".

Seel is very proud to be a descendant of one of the high-ranking members of the Mythic Dawn. He collected in his house all the objects, books and artifacts left after the destruction of the cult, with the exception of one, the most interesting - a Daedric artifact, the Razor of Mehrunes dagger, which the Daedra Prince presents to his most loyal and worthy admirers.

Seal will tell you that after the destruction of the cult, the weapon was broken into several parts. It was not possible to finally destroy these parts, so they were taken away and vowed to keep forever, not allowing reunification, three members of the "Razor Keepers". Since then, parts of the artifact have been passed down from generation to generation in the families of these Guardians.

After a long search, the Force managed to get hold of the "Razor Keepers" records, from which it can be understood that the wreckage is now in Skyrim. It also indicates the possible locations of the Guardians' descendants.

Having told this story, Seal will offer our hero to find all the parts of the "Razor of Mehrunes" and deliver them to the museum, promising a good reward.

Find the pieces of "Razor of Mehrunes"

By agreeing to help the owner of the museum and reading the records of the Keepers of the Razor, the Dragonborn will find out that the pieces are in the following places:

The hilt of the dagger is kept by the North Jorgen, the lumberjack of Morthal;

The fragments of the blade - from the leader of the gang that captured the ruins of the Fortress Cracked Tusk, - the orc Gunzul;

And, finally, the pommel can be found on the "Old Lady's Rock" by the leader of the local outcasts, the sorcerer Drascua.

Handle

The easiest way to get a handle is. To do this, having arrived in Morthal, you can talk to Jorgen and, with a high level of the "Speech" skill, get the key to his house. The chest by the bed will contain a piece of the artifact. If "Eloquence" is not highly developed, then you can simply break the lock on the door and, having penetrated inside, steal the handle of the "Razor". During the day, Jorgen is always out of his house at the sawmill, and his wife Lamy is in her shop "Thaumaturge's Hut", so burglary and theft are unlikely to become the reasons for the Dovahkiin's persecution by representatives of the law of ownership of Hjalmark.

Blade shards

For the fragments of the blade, our hero should go to the "Fortress of Cracked Tusk". These are the ruins of a small, palisaded fort located just east of Falkreath. It is run by an orc gang, engaged in hunting and robbing random travelers.

The courtyard is guarded by four orcs: two archers on the towers, one by the fire and another near the forge. In the fortress itself, in addition to the leader Gunzul, two more orcs are lodged. Whether to kill all the bandits in the open or sneak into the fort unnoticed and steal the relic is up to you.

The fortress itself can be accessed in three ways:

Through the central entrance;

Through a hatch in the roof of one of the surviving towers to the left of the entrance;

Through the door in the ruins of the foundations of the destroyed tower on the right (it is locked with the "Master" level lock).

A sunroof will lead directly to Gunzul's room, where on the bedside table you can steal the key to the vaults of Cracked Tusk Fortress, which contain the shards of the blade. The entrance to the vaults is located just behind the same locked door in the foundation of the tower ruins. If Dovahkiin, being skilled in the "Hacking" skill, entered the fortress this way, then by breaking the grate lock ("Expert" level), you can immediately get into the vaults, completely avoiding contact with the gang members.

If "Stealth" and "Hacking" are not the main advantages of your character, then the key to the vaults can be obtained from the corpse of Gunzul.

One way or another, once in the vaults, it is not worthwhile to open the grate with two levers and immediately rush to the pedestal with the fragments. The path to them is simply teeming with stretch marks. And the pedestal itself is a trap. One has only to take the fragments from him, as dozens of poisoned bolts pierce the body of Dovahkiin.

Top

For the pommel, you will have to go high into the mountains of Reach to the lair of the magician Drascua "The Old Lady's Rock". You can only get there by going through the large outcast camp "Witch's Bulwark".

The camp is a part of an ancient Nordic structure, the structures of which are stretched along the side of the mountain. Here the brave traveler will face resistance in the form of a large number of outcasts who have settled in the territory and the interior of the ruins.

Closer to the peak of Mount Dragonborn, it will finally reach Draskua's lair. The reward for defeating the sorcerer will be the coveted pommel of the Razor of Mehrunes.

Return to Force Vesul

Having collected all the parts of the dagger, we go back to the Force. He will be very happy, praise Dovahkiin and give a monetary reward. It is better to give him each part of the artifact separately, and not all in bulk. In this case, the reward will be 1000 septims per unit. If you give everything at once, then the reward will be 2500 septims.

After that, Sil will tell you that these are not all parts of the artifact. There is also a scabbard for this weapon, resting in one of the museum showcases. Also, promising our hero additional dividends, the cunning collector will ask to accompany him to the sanctuary of Mehrunes Dagon in order to restore the "Razor of Mehrunes" in its former splendor.

Travel to the shrine of Mehrunes Dagon

Having agreed to help in the restoration of the artifact, the hero will travel to the sanctuary of the Daedra Prince. If it has never been visited, then the easiest way to reach it is by going from Dawnstar along the road towards Whiterun. Directly on this road is a large outpost - Fort Dunstad. If you take to the right of this fort, you will soon see the Hall of the Watch - a wooden structure resembling a tavern. After passing it, and going a little further into the mountains, an attentive traveler will notice a mountain path marked by pyramids of cobblestones with pieces of developing matter. Following this path, the Dragonborn will soon reach a staircase leading straight to the shrine.

Note: You can, of course, just follow Silo Vesul there, but then he will have to be protected from wild animals and monsters.

Depending on the level of the character, wolves (up to snow), snow sabers, polar bears, ice trolls and ghosts can be encountered along the way.

Perform a ritual to summon the Daedric Prince

Upon the arrival of the hero at the sanctuary of the Forces, he will already be waiting, ready to perform the ritual, which he will do, without postponing the matter indefinitely. Having laid all the parts on the altar of the Lord of Chaos, he will turn to him. But the Daedra will not answer his call.

After the failure of the Force, he pigs to perform the ritual of our protege. This time everything will go as it should, and the Daedra Prince will listen to the Dragonborn. However, for the owner of the museum, this will have fatal consequences.

Dagon will agree to repair the "Razor", but at the same time he will demand to kill the Force of Vesul. You can resignedly agree or respond with a daring refusal. It doesn't matter, the mission will continue on. Hearing Dagon's wishes, Sil will be frightened and he will speak with Dovahkiin himself. Here it is necessary to decide finally, to kill the unfortunate and become the owner of a lethal weapon, or to spare and be content with monetary compensation for the failed victim - 500 septims.

Spare Vesul's Force

If you show mercy and spare the Force, then Dagon, in anger, will summon two-level Lords of Dremore. After defeating them, the Force, after thanking them, will go home with the debris of the artifact.

Kill the Force of Vesul

If the craving for power outweighed humanism, then after the murder of the Force Vesul, the Lord of Chaos will keep his promise and restore the "Razor" from the wreckage. But it is not for nothing that he will also become the Prince of Destruction! Laughing, he will still summon the two Lords of Dremore.

Enter the interior of the Mehrunes Dagon Shrine (optional).

In both variants of the end of the quest, after searching the corpses of the dremora, the keys to the door of the sanctuary will be found.

There is a lot of value inside: 3 chests with random contents, the Complete Armor Enchant Catalog (Enchant) tutorial, Spell Tome: Firebolt, Staff of Banishing, three random soul gems (up to black), 11 gold ingots, 3 ebony and 2 Refined Moonstone Ingots.

All this splendor is guarded by 2 dremoras, one of which is a magician.
