EVENING PHYSICS AND MATHEMATICS SCHOOL "ARCHIMEDES"
Faculty of Physics, Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov
in 2019/20 academic year, offers training programs:
Classes in groups of grades 9, 10 and 11 are held for students who have passed testing and are enrolled in training.
- Universal course physicists (in-depth study physics: preparation for the additional entrance test at Moscow State University, for the Moscow State University Olympiads in physics, for the Unified State Examination - 2020 in physics) for students in grades 10 and 11.
- Express preparation course for the Unified State Exam physics 2020 for 11th grade students.
- Preparation course for the OGE in physics 2020 (GIA) for 9th grade students.
- Universal course mathematicians(in-depth study of mathematics: algebra, geometry, mathematical methods necessary for solving physical problems, preparation for Olympiads and the Unified State Examination in mathematics) for students in grades 10 and 11 - recommended in parallel with course 1.
Classes are held from October 2019 to May 2020 (at rate 2 - from January to May 2020). For each course, classes are held once a week. All courses are compiled by leading teachers of the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University. Classes are taught by faculty teachers who have extensive experience working with schoolchildren in preparation for the Unified State Examination/Unified State Exam and who participate in conducting MSU Olympiads. The director of the All-Russian Physics School "ARCHIMED" is the head of the department of new admissions and work with schoolchildren, associate professor Konstantin Vladimirovich Parfenov.
The cost of classes for courses No. 1,2,3,4 in the 2019/2020 academic year is 550 rubles per academic hour. Duration of one lesson – 3 academic hours. Payment is made by semester (I semester - from October to January, II semester - from February to May).
Methods for solving complex problems in physics: lectures and consultations from leading teachers of the Faculty of Physics on preparation for Olympiads, the Unified State Exam and the Secondary VI of the Faculty of Physics. The course consists of 14 lectures on all sections of physics, which will be held from September 2019 to May 2020. Course No. 5 does not replace course No. 1, which is closer in form to seminar classes, but is a very useful addition to it. Among the lecturers of the course: Grachev Alexander Vasilievich, Lukasheva Ekaterina Vikentievna, Chistyakova Natalia Igorevna, Bushina Tatyana Andreevna, Seliverstov Alexey Valentinovich, Vishnyakova Ekaterina Anatolyevna and other teachers of the faculty.
Preparatory courses have existed at the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Mathematics of Moscow State University for over 15 years. During this time, thousands of schoolchildren were trained in preparatory courses, many of whom then became students of our faculty and other faculties of Moscow State University, as well as other prestigious universities in the country.
Preparation for admission
Preparation for entering a university is carried out by experienced teachers who have rich experience scientific and pedagogical activity, authors of many books and teaching aids. The teaching staff of the preparatory courses are teachers from our and other faculties, as well as invited teachers from the best lyceums in Moscow who have extensive experience working with high school students.

Preparatory courses for university
Preparatory courses for a university will not only give schoolchildren new knowledge and refresh their memory of old ones, but will also help them learn many of the subtleties of passing exams. While preparing to enter a university, students will repeat what they learned at school, and will also learn some new approaches and ways of solving problems.
Preparatory courses are psychological adaptation to the future stage of education, which is ensured through the use of university forms of training (lectures, seminars, colloquiums, etc.), a higher scientific level of specialized disciplines studied in courses, communication with scientists and university teachers, and stay in university classrooms.
A series of special classes allows course participants who have already made a choice to be convinced of the correctness decisions made. For applicants who have doubts or hesitations, the courses help them navigate and make their final choice of faculty.
Short-term courses last from 6 to 9 months; this is the best option for those who already have good training (for example, thanks to tutors) and want to familiarize themselves with the requirements of our faculty and its specifics, as well as evaluate their capabilities. The peculiarity of short-term courses is that they help the applicant concentrate on the knowledge that will need to be demonstrated at the entrance test.
Preparation for the Unified State Exam
Preparation for the Unified State Exam is the main focus of our preparatory courses. The preparation procedure for the Unified State Exam takes place in the form of lectures and seminars, thus preparing students for the form of education accepted in universities.
The material is presented with some frequency, the same topics are revealed more and more deeply as the student approaches the end of the courses. The training programs consist of real problems offered in the Unified State Examination and entrance exams of previous years. It should be noted that training in courses is much cheaper than classes with tutors.
