The best schools, lyceums and gymnasiums were chosen in Russia for the third time. As in previous years, the rating of educational institutions was prepared by the Moscow Center for Continuous Mathematical Education. The competition was held with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, information support was provided by MIA Rossiya Segodnya and ZAO Publishing House Uchitelskaya Gazeta.
In the 2014/2015 academic year, the competitive selection system has undergone minor changes. In particular, when forming the list, independent objective indicators were taken into account — the results of the OGE and the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren (final and regional stages). Separately, additional criteria were highlighted, such as “the availability of competitive recruitment” and “standardization of results by school size”. According to experts from the Ministry of Education and Science, this made it possible to take a more differentiated account of the achievement of goals and objectives facing each educational institution separately, as well as significantly increase the coverage of students (from 700 thousand to 1 million people or more), whose results are taken into account in the ranking.
As a result, the Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239 from St. Petersburg won the palm in terms of the sum of indicators (last year he won a bronze medal). In total, the TOP-500 includes schools from 81 regions. Only educational institutions from the Republic of Ingushetia, the Chechen Republic, the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug did not get there. Among the leading regions in terms of the number of schools included in the list of the top five hundred are Moscow (by a large margin), as well as the Kaliningrad and Tambov regions and the Republic of Khakassia.

List "Top 500" - these are the first 500 educational organizations, sorted by region in alphabetical order, and within the region - by the name of the organization, also in alphabetical order;
List "Top 25" (it is necessary to sort in the column "place in the top 25") - schools are sorted by number in the list, according to the rules of rating formation.

A total of 13 Moscow schools are represented in the top 25, 2 from St. Petersburg, 2 from Yekaterinburg, 2 from Chelyabinsk and one each from Saransk, Novosibirsk, Kirov, Vologda, Kazan and Omsk.
The criteria on the basis of which the Top-500 and Top-25 ratings are formed are the results of the OGE and the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren.
At the stage of developing the criteria, data from about 40 thousand general education organizations were processed, the students of which took the OGE in 2017. At the stage of forming an ordered list of educational organizations, the rating was calculated for 7418 out of the number of schools that have at least one prize-winner or winner of the regional or final stage of the All-Union School of Education.
The top in talent development reflects the results of school students at the regional and final stages of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren.
When compiling the rating, the researchers took into account the results of the final and regional stages of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren in each profile area, as well as the results of the Compulsory State Examination (OGE) in specialized subjects.

Starting from 2015, the assessment of the contribution of a general educational organization to quality education is determined by the results of the OGE. The indicator based on the results of the Olympiads remained the same.

The rating was formed on the basis of the Methodology developed by the Institute of Psychological and Pedagogical Problems of Childhood of the Russian Academy of Education and approved by the Expert Council on Education of RIA Novosti. Kindergartens were assessed in terms of the conditions created for the child, the teaching staff and additional kindergarten services.

The rating is based on the methodology , developed by the Interregional Association for Monitoring and Education Statistics (IAMSO) and agreed with the Expert Council for Education RIA Novosti .

Prepared by RIA Novosti and the Institute of Psychological and Pedagogical Problems of Childhood of the Russian Academy of Education.In total, 3536 kindergartens representing 16 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the rating study. In the course of the study, an initial data set was collected, representing information about the characteristics of kindergartens, which can be differentiated into three categories: "Conditions created for a child in kindergarten", "Educators working with children in kindergarten" and "Additional services in kindergarten ". Based on these categories, the final consolidated rating was compiled, illustrating the distribution of kindergartens from the kindergarten with the lowest rating (21.43%) to the leading preschool educational organization (54.95%).
