Guus Hiddink claims Chelseas Super Sunday clash with Manchester United remains a big deal, despite the sides struggles in the Premier League this season. Youth Spurs Jerseys . Hiddink is yet to taste defeat during his second spell at Stamford Bridge since being chosen as the man to replace Jose Mourinho in December and has helped ease the clubs fears of relegation. Although he is unbeaten in seven Premier League matches, Hiddink has been unable to spark a significant rise up the table and Chelsea enter the match with United in 13th place, 16 points off Arsenal in the final Champions League spot.  Fifth-placed United have also found the going tough this season, but manager Louis van Gaal has continually bristled at suggestions that his position at Old Trafford is under scrutiny. Ahead of the match at Stamford Bridge, which is live on Sky Sports, Hiddink said: This is a big match. Manchester [United] has to compete and likes to compete for the title, this year. And they must go into the Champions League positions. Go for Mourinho Man Utd should go for Jose Mourinho, says Jamie Redknapp You know the recent history of this club. Were getting back a bit on track, although Id like to have a few more victories. The team is step by step more stable and now we hope to go into a beautiful springtime.Chelsea were held to a goalless draw by Watford on Wednesday night, with forward Diego Costa denied a late winner at Vicarage Road. Hiddink repeated his recent call for others - made prior to the 5-1 FA Cup win at MK Dons, when Oscar scored a hat-trick - to share the goalscoring burden with Costa, who has scored 10 times in all competitions this season.  Hiddink has urged his players to take the goalscoring burden off Diego Costa I said before the FA Cup game we must not just depend on Diego for goals, Hiddink added. They responded, Oscar responded after that. We need the attackers to finish it off.I am not worried when one game [Costa] doesnt score. If he doesnt score other players must take the opportunity.Eden Hazard scored his first Chelsea goal of the season - and for 31 games - at stadium:mk and could start in the Premier League for the first time in five weeks against United. Eden Hazard is line to face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge Bringing him back at a good level is key for us, Hiddink added. And not taking big, big risks, because many games are coming up and we need him. The visitors took a deserved lead in the 16th minute with midfielder Yohan Cabaye curling the ball beyond Adrian from inside the penalty area. LONDON -- His lead slipping away, Andy Murray needed a little something extra to keep him going in the fifth set.He found it in the fans. And in himself. The second-seeded Murray absorbed everything he could from the Centre Court faithful, using their screams and cheers to help him hold off Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6 (10), 6-1, 3-6, 4-6, 6-1 and advance to the Wimbledon semifinals for the seventh time.Thats why its important to try to use the crowd, if you can, to your advantage, because they do make a difference, said Murray, who has now won six straight five-set matches. In long matches, tough matches, even if its half a percent difference, its good.Murray won the title at Wimbledon in 2013, becoming the first British man to win at the All England Club since Fred Perry in 1936. But he hasnt won a major since, losing in the finals of both the Australian Open and French Open this year. The man he lost to in both of those finals, Novak Djokovic, has been eliminated from Wimbledon. But Murray still has to beat Tomas Berdych in Fridays semifinals to have a chance at a second Wimbledon title on Sunday against either Roger Federer or Milos Raonic. The tough test against Tsonga can only help.I think it can give you a bit of confidence. It can help to go through games and stages in matches that are challenging, Murray said. If youre in that position in the nextt couple of matches, you know youve been there. Spurs Jerseys Outlet. n Wednesday, Murray won a tough first set against Tsonga and then easily took the second. But just as it appeared that Murray was going to cruise into the semifinals yet again, his French opponent started to turn things around.Tsonga saved three break points while trailing 4-3 in the fourth set. That was part of a four-game run that allowed him to force a final set. And not only did Tsonga have all the momentum, but he also was 6-0 at Wimbledon for his career in five-setters. So when he held a break point in the opening game, things were looking bleak for Murray.Id missed a couple of poor shots in that game, especially on the 30-all point. Missed a ball that was almost inside the service box, Murray said. Obviously to get that hold and just be ahead, again, was big.Murray is now 3-0 against Tsonga at Wimbledon. He also beat the big Frenchman in the 2010 quarterfinals and the 2012 semifinals. Overall, Murray leads Tsonga 13-2, including 12 of the last 13 dating back to 2009.The finish line was far tonight, Tsonga said. I came back strong on the third and fourth, but I didnt play well in the fifth.Murray did play well at the end, with a little help from the crowd. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys AuthenticWholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

RIO DE JANEIRO - World record holder Usain Bolt did not have nearly the fastest time in the preliminary rounds of the mens 200 but that was partly because he slowed down so much near the finish line while leading his heat that he could have been pushing a grocery cart. Wholesale Suns Jerseys . Plus, the heats were relatively early, starting around noon as opposed to the late night finals.I was a little tired, but it was a morning session and Im not a very good morning person, Bolt said. I just came out to qualify. Not surprisingly, he did so, winning his heat with a time of 20.28.That was well off his world record of 19.19 as well as the days top time of 20.09 by Canadas Andre De Grasse. It also was the 15th fastest time of the day.The heats are not about records, though. Especially for those who are fast enough that they can be confident they will advance without running at their absolute fastest race. Its not about time right now. Its about getting to the straight-away, holding your form and getting to the finish line, said Justin Gatlin, who advanced to the semifinal round with a time of 20.42. If you think about time, that will get into your head too much. The scheduling of the track events has been a little odd here. The turnaround between the 100 meter semifinals and the finals was not much more than hour, which both Bolt and Gatlin said caused them to have slower times than they had hoped. The triple jump final was also held in the morningTuesday, starting at 10:50 a.m., which gold medalist Christian Taylor said he had never experienced before. It all required early morning starts for the Olympians. Its not just the run thats tiring, its the transportation getting to and from the athletes village to here because of the traffic, Gatlin said. You cant stay up too late but how could I not stay up to watch the womens 400 final last night? I had to make sure I watched that and then got right back upstairs to go to bed.Bolt, who won his third consecutive gold in the 100 Sunday, is the favorite in the 200, where he will try to win his third gold as well. The semifinals of the 200 are Wednesday and the finals are Thursday.American LaShawn Merritt, who medaled in the 400 Sunday, also qualified with a time of 20.15, the fourth best of the day, as did Ameer Webb with a time of 20.31. Womens Suns Jerseys . Bruce Bowen Jersey . He learned about pressure and expectations at the 2010 Games in his hometown of Vancouver. His next mission is to build on that experience at his next Olympic appearance in Sochi, where he plans to ride the momentum from the teams strong start to the season. LaMarcus Aldridge Jersey . The Union looked to have grabbed a big win in the 88th minute when Amobi Okugo finally put the hosts in front. But a terrible giveaway by Union goalkeeper Rais Mbolhi handed Earnshaw the equalizer in the second minute of stoppage time, keeping the Union two points back of fifth-place Red Bull New York for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. WASHINGTON -- The Dallas Stars and Washington Capitals both began the game one point away from a playoff spot. Derrick White Jersey . The Stars? They played like a team determined to get to there for the first time since 2008. The Capitals? They looked like a group tired of having their yearly routines disrupted by such a trivial thing as post-season hockey. It was no contest. The Stars 5-0 win over the Capitals on Tuesday night was a victory of confidence over embarrassment. Dallas has won five of six, outscoring opponents 16-5 over their past three games. "Its a big obstacle," said Ray Whitney, who scored in the second period. "Its been, what, five years now? ... Were no different than anybody else whos been out for a while. We want to get in pretty bad." The victory, at least for a few hours, moved the Stars one point ahead of the Phoenix Coyotes for the final post-season berth in the Western Conference. The Coyotes then moved into a tie with Dallas by picking up a point in a shootout loss to Winnipeg later Tuesday. "Its scoreboard-watching time," Whitney said. The Capitals, meanwhile, were booed heavily in their home rink, particularly after an abysmal stretch in the second period in which they allowed several odd-man rushes, took a slashing penalty and gave up two goals in 34 seconds. "If I was a fan, Id be booing us right now," said goaltender Braden Holtby, who relieved Jaroslav Halak in the second period after Dallas third goal. "A playoff race like were in? To lose 5-0, its awful. Theres no words for it." The Capitals began their run of playoff seasons in 2008. Like Dallas, they started the day as a ninth-place team, but they ended up dropping a spot to 10th. They would lose a tiebreaker against every team contending for the final post-season spots in the Eastern Conference. They have lost four straight and were shut out for the seventh time this season. Alex Ovechkin - the leagues leading goal-scorer - hasnt scored a 5-on-5 goal in more than a month. "If somehow we make the playoffs playing like this, who are we kidding?" coach Adam Oates said. "We have to figure out a way to get better. We have to stick togethher. George Gervin Jersey. " Tyler Seguin scored his 33rd goal, Dustin Jeffrey got his first two of the season, and Whitney and Ryan Garbutt also scored for the Stars. Alex Chiasson had three assists, and Kari Lehtonen made 35 saves for his fourth shutout. After over-relying on Seguin and Jamie Benn to carry the scoring load, Dallas suddenly has been getting points from seemingly everyone. "If you look at our top line, I think a lot of teams are focusing on that. Theyre getting the harder matchups," said Jeffrey, who has been back and forth to the minors after being claimed off waivers in November. "We have to be able to score up and down our lineup." Seguin redirected Benns wrister from the left circle in the first period, then there were Capitals miscues aplenty in the second, with the Stars taking advantage. Alex Goligoskis long pass sprang a 2-on-0 break for Whitneys goal. Jeffrey scored shortly afterward, then again in the third. Garbutt capped the scoring with a short-handed goal on a breakaway. "We had a lot of 2-on-1s, and we even had a 2-on-0," Whitney said. "Not often do you see that many scoring chances." Ovechkin last had a 5-on-5 point on Feb. 27, a streak of 16 games. Nicklas Backstrom, who leads the teams in points, is also without a 5-on-5 goal since Feb. 27. Multiple players in the Capitals locker room faulted the teams lack of urgency. "It cant be justified. Its terrible. ... Its like we expect the next guy to make the play," defenceman Karl Alzner said. "Its been kind of off and on like that for a lot of the season, and weve got away with it at times. It clearly hasnt worked the last little bit, and you pay for it in the end." Notes: D Patrik Nemeth made his NHL debut for the Stars as D Aaron Rome sat out with an injury. . Capitals D Patrick Wey sat out after taking an uppercut in a fight that forced him out of Saturdays loss at Nashville. Washington RW Dustin Penner (illness) and D Jack Hillen (upper-body injury) also missed the game. ... Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork. Diego Alves Jersey .com) - Chris VandeVelde and Michael Raffl scored in the third period and Rob Zepp came up with 24 saves, as Philadelphia extended Buffalos recent misery with a 4-3 result at HSBC Arena. R.J. Umberger and Mark Streit also tallied while Michael Del Zotto netted two assists for the Flyers, who had been shut out in back-to-back games coming in and picked up their first road win of 2015. We have a group of guys here that love scoring goals and some of the guys do it often. To go a couple of games without scoring, it definitely feels long, Umberger said. Zemgus Girgensons produced a pair of markers for the Sabres, whose franchise- record losing streak reached 10 games. Tyler Ennis added a goal while Chris Stewart posted two helpers. If you dont go to the net, if you dont carry the puck and you dont fight your way in their, youre not going to have a chance, Sabres coach Ted Nolan said. Michal Neuvirth allowed all four Philadelphia scores on 32 shots. VandeVelde took a Vincent Lecavalier lead pass up the middle, beat a Sabres defender and though he fanned on his shot from the slot, it managed to slide between Neuvirths pads at 5:54 of the third to give Philly a 3-2 advantage. Raffl made it 4-2 at 8:39 when he skated to the right side and flipped home a Luke Schenn rebound chance off a Del Zotto shot from the left point. Neuvirth was pulled for an extra skater with more than two minutes to play and Lecavalier in the box for a stick-holding infraction, and Girgensons snuck a high shot home from the left side as 1:09 remained in regulation. The host Sabres didnt manage a quality chance from there. Girgensons gave Buffalo an early lead with 1:09 to play in the first, a shot which knuckled off the ice and beat Zepp inside the left post. The puck appeared to change direction once it hit Flyers defenseman Nick Schultz, who provided a an inadvertent soft screen. On Philadelphias first man advantage in the second period, Matt Reads left- circle drive deflected off Umbergers stick to tie the game at 3:51. That marker ended a scoreless string of 168 minutes, 50 seconds that stands fourth in franchise history. The visitors struck again on the power play at 7:49, as Streits point blast eluded Neuvirth thanks to a Wayne Simmonds screen. Zepp then stoned Girgensons on a short-handed breakaway as the clock ticked below 8 1/2 minutes left in the period, and he had to close off the left post to stop Brian Flynn moments later. Buffalo tied the score at 2-2 with 54.6 remaining before the second intermission. A Rasmus Ristolainen point shot hit the post, and Ennis followed up Matt Moulsons stab at the loose puck and lifted a backhander under the crossbar. Game Notes Philadelphia last won on the road Dec. 23 at Minnesota ... Flyers captain Claude Giroux picked up an assist and was 16-for-25 on faceoffs, but finished a minus-2 ... The Sabres became the first NHL team to lose 10 in a row in regulation since the Pittsburgh Penguins did so from Jan. 6-23, 2006 ... Buffalo had given up the first goal in 10 straight games before scoring first on Saturday ... Prior to the contest, the Flyers recalled forward Jason Akeson from Lehigh Valley (AHL) but scratched him anyway ... The Flyers also revealed that at blood clots found in defenseman Kimmo Timonens lungs during the preseason have dissolved, but the ones in his legs have not. It is still undetermined if the 39-year-old will be allowed to resume his career. Danilo Jersey .C. -- Marcus Paige and his North Carolina teammates have endured so many wild swings -- big wins, surprising losses, NCAA drama -- that no one can blame their Hall of Fame coach for wondering whats next. Jemerson Jersey . -- Top-seed Shahar Peer and Canadian Eugenie Bouchard advanced to the second round of the inaugural WTA Citi Open.VANCOUVER - David Backes went to Sochi hoping to bring back some stories. Instead, he brought back a couple of stray puppies. The St. Louis Blues captain, who played for the U.S. in the 2014 Winter Olympics, and his wife Kelly rescued the dogs from the streets of the Russian city with members of the Canadian teams entourage. Now in quarantine in St. Louis, the dogs will eventually be given to good homes. "Were just trying to widen our scope to help animals across the (U.S.) and across the world, and doing what we can," Backes said Tuesday. Backes said he and his wife did not originally intend to bring any animals back. They were hoping to create awareness about shelters that have been set up in Sochi to help hundreds of stray dogs that have received international media coverage. "She ddoesnt take no very lightly," he said. Marcelo Grohe Jersey. . "So when she saw those two pups and a few more, she said weve gotta do something to get these out of here and tell their story and broaden the awareness of some of the mistreatment of animals - and just the difference in (how) they treat their companion animals and we treat ours." The Backes, who have four rescue dogs and two rescue cats in their home set up their own foundation, Athletes for Animals, last November, received helped from Canadian winger Jeff Carters girlfriend Megan Keffer and defenceman Drew Doughtys girlfriend Nicole Arruda and others. The three-to-four-month-old pups, named Sochi Junior and Sochi Jake, were brought back to the U.S. on an Air Atlas charter to Newark and another flight to St. Louis. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

ST. Drew Stubbs Jersey . LOUIS - The timing was perfect for Matt Adams dad to make a weekend visit to Busch Stadium. The burly first baseman is playing well after a stint on the 15-day disabled list, giving Jamie Adams a lot to smile about. "I think anybody here would like to have their parents around, especially on Fathers Day weekend," Adams said after hitting the go-ahead home run for the second straight game in a 4-1 victory over the Washington Nationals on Saturday. "Tonight was a little better," Adams said. "Coming the day before Fathers Day is great." Adams connected against Stephen Strasburg in St. Louis three-run seventh inning, driving a 3-1 offering over the wall in right-centre. On Friday, he homered on his first swing in his return from a left calf strain, lifting St. Louis to a 1-0 victory. "I think Im just waiting out the pitchers," Adams said. "I went down to Memphis to get my timing back and my confidence is up." The Cardinals batted around in the seventh with the help of two infield hits, a hit batter and two walks, one of them by Matt Holliday with the bases loaded against Drew Storen. Allen Craig added an infield hit off Storen on a slow tapper halfway down the third-base line. "What can you say?" Nationals catcher Jose Lobaton said. "Theyve been throwing good and today was one of those days." Jayson Werth had an RBI double in the first for the Nationals, who managed just four hits for a two-day total of six. Its their first series loss since losing a pair to Miami from May 26-28, and they will try to avoid a three-game sweep in the series finale Sunday. St. Louis reliever Randy Choate (1-2) needed one pitch to escape a bases-loaded threat in the seventh after a strong start from Shelby Miller, who gave up four hits in 6 2-3 innings. Pat Neshek worked a perfect eighth and Trevor Rosenthal finished for his 19th save in 22 chances. Strasburg allowed three runs and seven hits in 6 2-3 innings in his first career appearance in St. Louis. It was his 11th consecutive quality start, but he dropped to 5-3 with a 2.22 ERA in that stretch that began April 20 when he gave up two runs in six innings at home against the Cardinals. Strasburg didnt pitch in the 2012 NL division series against St. Louis after the Nationals shut him down the final month of the season. They lost a five-game series. "It was just fun to finally get a chance to pitch here," Strasburg said. "I wanted to go out there and give it everything I had and I feel like I did that, so I can sleep easy tonight." Strasburg allowed just two homers in his previous seven starts, and Adams long ball was the Cardinals first off the right-hander in four career appearances. "In the grand scheme of things you can always second-guess yourself, but I think if I threw a 3-1 changeup there, especially if hes in swing mode, I probably wouldnt have had that result," Strasburg said. "Who knows? Im not going to dwell on it too much, just going to learn from it and move on." St. Louis pitchers have permitted just one run in the Cardinals last five victories, including a pair of 5-0 wins over Toronto and a 1-0 victory against Tampa Bay. Miller matched his season best with seven strikeouts but walked four, including two for Strasburg, batting .077 with two hits on the year. Strasburgs second walk loaded the bases, but Denard Span grounded out against Choate. "Ill say this just to make him mad, but it looks like he got a little tired," manager Mike Matheny said of Miller. "Those are the things that they dont like to hear, so hell come back and have something to say about that for sure." Span went 0 for 4 and is hitless in his last 18 at-bats over the last five games. Anthony Rendon singled with one out in the first and scored from first on Werths double to right-centre. Craig made a sliding stop to cut the ball off and couldnt recover in time. It was tied in the third after a two-out rally started by Millers fourth hit of the season — and third double. The pitcher scored standing up on Matt Carpenters single. NOTES: Cardinals LHP Jaime Garcia (2-0, 4.26 ERA) opposes Doug Fister (5-1, 2.68 ERA) on Sunday. Garcia is 3-1 against the Nationals and Fister has won his last five starts. ... The game time of 2 hours, 3 minutes for the series opener Friday night was the shortest in the major leagues this season. ... With a late goal yet again, Belgium made the difference in the 78th minute when defender Jan Vertonghen followed up a shot from teenage striker Divock Origi and tapped in the rebound past goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu. "We knew all games were going to be tough," said Belgium coach Marc Wilmots. "But even with 10 men, we still pushed forward. These guys are really hungry." After three narrow victories and precious little beautiful play, Belgium will now play the United States in Salvador on Tuesday. "Mission accomplished," said Wimots. And along with Iran, Japan and Australia, South Korea departed as the last team from the Asian federation, all in the first round. Algeria finished second in the group after a 1-1 draw with Russia -- a result that meant South Korea needed a four-goal win to advance. They never came close. "All of our players did their utmost. They gave it their all but I think that it was my shortcoming, my failing as a coach that caused this result," said coach Hong Myung-Bo. The former captain of the 2002 team which reached the semifinals did not offer his resignation, though. South Korea did not go without a strong fight, landing the ball on Belgiums crossbar on the hour-mark and testing standout goalie Thibaut Courtois with several shots afterward. Yet even with a man up, the Koreans could never pressure Belgium enough to find an opening and paid the price. For scorer Vertonghen it was a bit of redemption after he caused the penalty against Algeria in the opener which forced Belgium into late histrionics to come back and claw out a 2-1 victory. "I really felt bad after that but now only joy is left," he said. Belgium promised to play with flair in this tournament but is proving that its still a master at grinding out results. "It gives us so much conffidence to get those nine points with only 10 men and prepare for the Americans in that mood," Vertonghen said. Kurt Suzuki Jersey. Having a goalie like Courtois does make it easier, especially as its defence was missing injured starters Vincent Kompany and Thomas Vermaelen. But the Belgians also proved they sorely lacked the creative skills of Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard, who were on the bench from the start. On the hour mark, South Korea came closest to scoring when Son Heung-min saw a cross float right onto the crossbar beyond the reach of Courtois. Belgium fielded four World Cup newcomers, but was reduced to three in the 45th minute when Steven Defour planted his studs, leg outstretched, into the shin of Kim Shin-wook. Australian referee Benjamin Williams didnt hesitate to pull out the red card. Earlier, the South Koreans almost scored around the half-hour mark. First, a long-distance drive from Ki Sung-yeung forced Courtois into a great diving save and, one minute later, Defour kicked a ball off the line in another goalmouth scramble. Mertens could have lifted the pressure off Belgium in the 25th minute he was left wide open eight meters out. He skied the ball over, immediately opening his mouth in disbelief at having missed such a chance. In the second half, South Korea brought on a second full striker in Lee Keun-ho for even more pressure. The Asians created a flurry of chances early in the second half, but either Courtois showed his class or the South Koreans lacked any precision. ------ Lineups: South Korea: Kim Seung-gyu; Lee Yong, Kim Young-gwon, Hong Jeong-ho, Yun Suk-young; Lee Chung-yong, Han Kook-young (Lee Keun-ho, 46th), Ki Sung-yueng, Son Heung-min (Ji Dong-won, 73rd); Koo Ja-cheol, Kim Shin-wook (Kim Bo-kyung, 66th). DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. Earnest Byner Jersey . -- Memo Gidley and Matteo Malucelli were admitted to a Daytona Beach hospital Saturday night for further testing following a two-car accident right before the three-hour mark of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. IMSA officials said both drivers were awake and communicating, but gave no other information about their conditions. Gidley was driving for the pole-winning GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing team. He had to be cut out of the No. 99 Corvette, which crumpled like an accordion when he plowed into the back of Malucellis Ferrari. The cars were heading into the kink in the infield portion of the track facing directly into the sun. Malucellis car had apparently lost power -- his team said he radioed he was pulling out of the way -- as the cars headed into a high-speed turn. At the same time, Gidley tried to lap a slower car. He pulled out to the left and tried to duck under the lapped car, apparently didnt see Malucelli off the pace, and drove directly into the Ferrari at nearly full speed. The race was red-flagged as emergency workers tended to both drivers. They were placed onto stretchers, loaded into ambulances and taken to Halifax Health Medical Center, located roughly a mile outside the race track. "This stuff, it happens, its racing. But you never expect it to be your car, your team," said Gidley teammate Darren Law. Olivier Beretta, Malucellis teammate on the Risi Competizione team, saw a replay of the accident and wondered if the glare played a role in the wreck. "Its difficult to say because its the sun going down, and in this corner you dont see very well," Beretta said. "I dont know. I honestly dont know. The most important thing right now is Matteo, the rest I dont care. Its just Matteo and the other driver." Many drivers inquired about Gidleys condition. Christian Fittipaldi passed by the accident scene before the race was stopped and was concerned for Gidleys well-being. "At that point, conditions were really hard. The sun was setting. There were two points on the track where you couldnt see anything," Fittipaldi said. "One was at start-finish and the other point was coming out of Turn 3 and coming out of the kink. I imagined there was a slow car ahead of him and he couldnt see." The clock ticked off roughly 90 minutes under combined red and yellow flag following the accident before racing resumed. The sun had gone down and the drivers had turned on their headlights by the time the field went green again. The bizarre accident was yet another disappointment for the GAINSCO team, which was the surprising pole winner Thursday despite limited preseason testing and a thin budget that has the organization planning to run only five of the 13 events in the in the inaugural United SportsCar Championship season. The odds were stacked against the GAINSCO team winning the race -- since 1994 only three pole winners have reached Victory Lane in the twice-around-the-clock endurance event -- but a strong showing would have sufficed. Although the team won the pole in 2007 and finished second in 2008, it has finished no better than seventh since and had DNFs in 2010 and was 89 laps off the pace in 2012. When racing did resume, the event got its feel good moment when Wayne Taylor came out of retirement to briefly get behind the wheel of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette. The 58-year-old last raced in 2010, in this event, but was talked into driving one stint as an opportunity to join the lineup with sons with Ricky and Jordan. The opportunity came about when Ricky rejoined the team that won the Grand-AM driver championship last season with Jordan Taylor and Max Angelelli. Wayne Taylor, despite his vocal reluctance to do much in the car, seemed to be on pace as he battled Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan. "My Dad just held Tony Kanaan off for two laps. I have a very cool Dad!" Jordan Taylor posted on Twitter. The plan had been for Ricky Taylor, who started the race, to turn the car over to his father. But the driver change came as the sun was setting, and the team decided at the last minute to instead have Angelelli drive second. "When I got out of the car, there was a big glare and he has had trouble with his eyes and his old age," Ricky Taylor said, laughing slightly. "We would like to put him in in the nighttime, and preferably under yellow, because hes also a little on the shorter side. He has a big insert in his seat and we have to get him snug in there tight. We have to loosen our belts up a lot." His sons said their father has been protesting competing in the event, but they believe hes secretly enjoying himself. "After the race he will look back on it and be very happy that we made it happen and that we got through it," Ricky Taylor said. "He is hating it. He doesnt enjoy driving anymore. He always wants to get out of the car. But every time he is finished driving, hes happy." Josh Doctson Jersey .A caravan greeted the former Boston Red Sox pitcher at the airport and took him to a public park in Santo Domingo, where a crowd lined a 19-mile stretch of highway to catch a glimpse of him.Once at the park, Martinez went on stage accompanied by players David Ortiz and Robinson Cano as merengue music played and fireworks lit up the sky. Ryan Kerrigan Jersey .Y. - Referee Ed Hochuli referred to replay official Tom Sifferman by his nickname Jungle Boy, which was heard on the in-stadium microphone during the Arizona Cardinals-Carolina Panthers NFC wild-card game Saturday.SPIELBERG, Austria -- Red Bull doubts coming home will be an advantage, as Formula One returns to Austria this week for the first time in 11 years. Team drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel finally ended Mercedes six-race winning streak by finishing 1-3 in the Canadian Grand Prix two weeks ago. But just when their F1 fortunes have taken an upturn, they dont believe their home track, the old A1 Ring redubbed the Red Bull Ring, will give them anything more than an emotional boost in the Austrian Grand Prix. Even then, teams that have been eating Red Bulls exhaust for the last four years are keen to pay them in kind on their home track. "It adds a bit of extra motivation," F1 leader Nico Rosberg of Mercedes admits. "It would be really special to win on the A1 Ring." Ricciardo and Vettel believe rival Mercedes will bounce back from its hiccup in Montreal, and go into the Austrian GP as deserved favourites. "The gap is still big," Ricciardo said on Thursday. "Weve got a bit of steam from the last race. Were all really excited - the home one for Red Bull - but (closing the gap) is still going to take a bit of time, its not going to happen overnight." Vettel thinks Mercedes is likely to have sorted out the technical mishaps from Montreal. "Everything else would surprise me," Vettel said, adding his teams goal was to get as close as possible to its dominant rival. "If a chance comes up like in Canada, we want to be right there to take it." Only engine troubles have stymied Mercedes this season. In Montreal, Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton had the same problem at about the same time, when their rear brakes overheated. While Hamilton went out, race leader Rosberg managed to limit the damage and lost just one place. "Its work in progress," Rosberg said of his team technicians trying to solve the problem. "We are confident its not happening again. We dont need to go extra conservative." Despite his second DNF of the season, Hamilton took positives out of tthe Canadian GP. Dustin Hopkins Jersey. "Weve only gained from that experience," the 2008 world champion said. "The cars been fixed so that wont happen again. ... We have a lot races ahead of us so a couple of DNFs are not concerning me too much now. I have done my optimum but there is still room for improvement." The Austrian GP was last held in 2003, when Michael Schumacher triumphed on his way to the sixth of his seven world titles. Only four drivers have raced on this circuit -- Jenson Button, Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso and Filipe Massa. It will be the first time for Ricciardo and Vettel. Although the track has been modified only slightly, the 11-year-old race data wont be much help as the series has drastically changed with the introduction of the hybrid cars. "To be honest, I dont remember anything ... I have no memories," Alonso said. "(It) is a very short circuit, so there are only five or six corners around here where you can make the time, so I expect all the cars to be very close. One or two tenths (in time), you can make a lot of places, so you just need to make a perfect lap." Teams will rely heavily on their simulations, and need to gather as much data as possible during practice on Friday and Saturday morning, especially on surface characteristics. Those could change between the first and second practices as rain has been forecast for Friday afternoon. At 4.3 kilometres, the track is one of the shortest on the calendar. However, it has fast straights and features only nine turns, with just the first three to be taken in low gear, and it includes two DRS zones -- after the second and the ninth turn. In these zones, drivers are allowed to alter the angle of their cars rear wing flap to reduce drag while attempting to overtake. Until the Canadian GP, Mercedes was racing in a league of its own. Rosberg leads with 140 points, Hamilton has 118, and next-best was Ricciardo, on 79. Vettel was fifth with 60, but he and Ricciardo are hoping coming home will make a difference. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys AuthenticWholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

PORTLAND, Ore. Jese Jersey . -- Ryan Nelsens comments about MLS officiating have cost him. Major League Soccer confirmed Wednesday that the Toronto FC manager had been fined for his comments on referee Ted Unkel following Torontos 2-1 home loss to Sporting Kansas City on July 26. Torontos list of complaints included a no-call in the 23rd minute when Unkel waved play on after Kansas City defender Aurelien Collin, chasing Brazilian striker Gilberto, appeared to clip the Brazilians leg. Gilberto, who had a clear path on goal, went down with Toronto expecting a red card for Collin. Instead the French defender went unpunished. "Collin should have been sent off. I mean an under-12 ref can pick that one," Nelsen said after the game. "Thats pretty basic." Nelsen said later he expected to be fined for his criticism. But star Toronto midfielder Michael Bradley escaped league sanctions for his post-game comments. "Its by no means an excuse, it was the same for both teams, but the referee was absolutely awful," Bradley said in the locker-room. "The people at the MLS (head) office in New York, when they talk about wanting to improve the league, the first thing that needs to be improved is the refereeing, bottom line. "That shouldnt come across as sour grapes because thats just the reality. And it was bad for both teams and Im sure theyre sitting in their locker-room saying the same thing to themselves but theyve got three points with them and that certainly makes it a little easier to swallow." Unkel issued eight yellow cards, including five to Toronto. Kansas City was reduced to 10 men in the 75th minute when captain/defender Matt Besler got a second yellow. Nelsen was also fined by the league in late May for criticizing the officiating after Torontos 2-2 draw at Sporting Kansas City. Nelsen was upset with a straight red card given to defender Steven Caldwell for a high tackle on Sportings Antonio Dovale and with a penalty awarded to Kansas City late in the game. The league did not detail the amount of the fines. Adrien Rabiot Jersey . -- Chad Labelle scored the winner 17:36 into the third period to give Medicine Hat a 2-1 victory over the Swift Current Broncos on Sunday and lift the Tigers into the second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs. Jean-Christophe Bahebeck Jersey . LOUIS -- St.NASHVILLE -- The Nashville Predators have signed free-agent forward Simon Moser to a one-year entry-level contract. Mosers deal was announced Monday. The 24-year-old Moser has spent the last five seasons with Langnau of the Swiss Elite Leaague. Roli Pereira De Sa Jersey. He has 56 goals, 54 assists and 179 penalty minutes in 232 games. Moser, who is six-foot-one and 214 pounds, had 10 goals and 11 assists in 35 games for Langnau last season while serving as a team captain. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys AuthenticWholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

MINSK, Belarus -- Wanting Team Canada to improve game by game at the world hockey championship, coach Dave Tippett thought the quarter-final effort against Finland was the best yet. Paul Posluszny Jersey . It was also the last, as a couple of third-period mistakes led to a 3-2 loss Thursday at Chizhovka Arena and Canadas elimination from the tournament. "I use a phrase all the time that every play counts," Tippett said. "Every play counts and unfortunately we had a couple go against us." The play that counted the most for Canada was a turnover by defenceman Tyler Myers, who tried to pass it off the wall to Kyle Turris. Jori Lehtera got in the way, setting up Iiro Pakarinen for the game-winner with just 3:08 left. A downtrodden Myers said everyone saw what happened and didnt feel he needed to explain. Turris, who scored Canadas first goal, took the blame. "I was yelling at him, Im open in the middle, Im open in the middle, and when he passed to the middle, the guy stepped in between," Turris said. "It was my fault. I was yelling at him to move it to me, and the guy stepped in the way and went the other way. I should have had it." It was a game that Canada felt it should have had. Holding a 2-1 lead after two periods on goals by Turris and Mark Scheifele, the Canadians were in control despite a strong game from Finnish goaltender Pekka Rinne. One bad bounce 28 seconds into the third changed everything. Finlands Juuso Hietanen let a slapshot fly that hit Ben Scrivenss right arm, the back of his blocker, and then the shaft of his stick before trickling over the goal-line. "Its a terrible goal to give up," said Scrivens, who stopped 23 of the 26 shots he faced. "Its deflating for the team. Thats squarely on me. Its really tough to swallow right now." This was the fifth straight year Canada lost in the quarter-finals at this tournament. Making it more difficult to accept was that this squad of NHL third-liners and potential stars of the future bounced back perfectly from an opening shootout loss to France. Six straight victories followed. The Finland game easily could have been one, too. "We still had our shifts in their end, our chances," captain Kevin Bieksa said. "We had a couple breakdowns. We knew going into this game that the Finns were a team that would sit back and capitalize on our mistakes, and they made us pay tonight." Tippett addressed his players after the loss but couldnt offer much in the way of an uplifting sentiment. "Its a tough situation for everybody," Tippett said. "Its not the result you want. We came here to win, we didnt come here to lose in the quarter-finals. Theres not much to say. We didnt accomplish what we wanted to accomplish." All because of a few bad breaks. Finlands first goal 6:06 in, which came on the power play with Myers in the box for roughing, happened after an attempted point shot deflected off penalty-killer Joel Wards stick and right to Olli Palola for his third of the tournament. That didnt deflate Canada, which kept putting pucks on Rinne, who finished with 36 saves on 38 shots. The attempts came from everywhere and almost everyone, as 17 of 20 skaters had at least one on net. "I thought we played some really good hockey throughout the whole game," Myers said. "I think we were right there. It was our game to lose. Its never a good feeling to have it happen like that." One problem was going 0-for-5 on the power play. Had Canada buried a couple of those chances, like Brayden Schenns shot very early that hit the crossbar, it would have been a very different game. Canadas players and Tippett were quick to credit the Finns, who played their brand of hockey well and pounced on mistakes. "We worked extremely hard (for) 60 minutes," Hietanen said. "We knew that we were going to get our chances and now we scored a couple goals." Finland coach Erkka Westerlund was proud of how his team responded and came back from the 2-1 deficit. "In (the) third period we showed the mental strength," Westerlund said. "We call it in Finland sisu." The third period was Canadas weakest of the game. "Its frustrating. I thought we had a great first two periods, we were outshooting them badly, had great opportunities," Turris said. "If we played the way we did in the first two to finish the game, I think we would have come out with a better outcome." Instead, Scrivens lamented Finlands goaltending being better than his and not holding up his end of the bargain to teammates. And Myers was left with the same feelings he had much of this NHL season with the Buffalo Sabres. "Its never fun losing," Myers said. "I did too much of that this year." This wasnt a loss that had Canadas players wondering about their overall play. But that was no consolation. "Its just the way it is," Tippett said. "We played a good game tonight. Unfortunately, we lost." Notes: Alex Burrows returned to Canadas lineup after missing the final two preliminary-round games with a leg injury. Burrows was the 13th forward and played just 4:11 with no shifts in the third period. ... Finlands roster features just three NHL players: Rinne, Olli Jokinen of the Winnipeg Jets and Erik Haula of the Minnesota Wild. Abry Jones Jersey . Louis Cardinals won the World Series last season, but after losing first baseman Albert Pujols to free agency and manager Tony LaRussa to retirement, they opened the 2012 season in 12th spot in the TSN. Stefan Charles Jersey . -- Fresh off their surprising run in the playoffs, the Portland Trail Blazers have signed head coach Terry Stotts to a multi-year contract extension. NEW YORK -- Robinson Cano drove in a run and scored another in a most unwelcome return to Yankee Stadium, helping the Seattle Mariners beat New York 6-3 Tuesday night for their fourth win in five games. Amid lusty boos from a modest crowd on a rainy, 46-degree night, Cano began his first game in the Bronx since joining Seattle this winter for $240 million with a wink -- at Yankees starter CC Sabathia (3-3). Cano got a mock cheer when he struck out to end the inning, then was met with chants of "You sold out!" from the Bleacher Creatures when he took his spot at second base. When Cano grounded out to first base in the fourth, first baseman Mark Teixeira gave him a smile after the close play. The five-time All-Star was even booed when he cleanly handled a grounder. Chris Young (1-0) gave up a second-inning homer to Teixeira and not much else in 5 2-3 innings to earn his first win since 2012. Mike Zunino had a career-high four hits, one courtesy of a replay review that sparked a four-run fifth inning. Fernando Rodney gave up an RBI single to Brett Gardner in the ninth before striking out Derek Jeter and Carlos Beltran with two runners on base. Cano really riled up the crowd in the fifth after driving in Seattles first run with a groundball to Teixeira with the bases loaded. Seattles big inning started with Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon winning a challenge on a bang-bang play at first. Zunino, the catcher whose errant throw to second in the third inning on Gardners stolen base gave New York a 2-0 lead, was ruled to have beaten out a grounder to second base. Sabathia gave up a single to Willie Bloomquist and a bunt hit to Abraham Almonte to load the bases. Yankees second baseman Brian Roberts was playing near the bag and did not reach first to cover when Teixeira fielded the bunt. Cano hit a sharp grounder to first for thhe run, Corey Hart followed with a two-run double and Justin Smoak made it 4-2 with a single. Brandon Linder Jersey. In the seventh, Cano reached on an infield single to second base and stole second. He was greeted there by Jeter, who gave his former double-play partner a friendly tap on the chest. Earlier, Jeter had playfully run his fingers through Canos fuzzy beard. Facial hair was no-no during Canos nine years with New York. Pinch-hitter Dustin Ackley and Zunino had RBI singles in the seventh, more than enough support to give Young his first victory since Sept. 2, 2012, for the New York Mets. He missed last season after having shoulder surgery and was decisionless in four appearances this year. The 6-foot-10 Princetonian held New York to three hits and three walks. Sabathia was chased after putting two on in the sixth, his shortest outing since July 26. He gave up nine hits and four runs in five-plus innings. He struck out six. NOTES: Mariners first base coach Andy Van Slyke was ejected by third base umpire Adam Hamari in the bottom of the eighth. It came shortly after Cano was called out on a check-swing appeal. ... Yankees RHP Ivan Nova had reconstructive elbow surgery Tuesday. Dr. James Andrews performed the operation in Pensacola, Fla. ... Suspended Yankees RHP Michael Pineda cut short a simulated game in Tampa after experiencing tightness in an upper back muscle. He will have an MRI. His first scheduled start (Monday) after a 10-game ban for having a foreign substance on his neck is in jeopardy, according to manager Joe Girardi. ... Yankees CF Jacoby Ellsbury was out of starting lineup because of a sore left hand. ... Mariners RHP Hisashi Iwakuma (torn tendon in middle finger) rejoined the team and had a bullpen session at Yankee Stadium. Hes scheduled to pitch again Friday but McClendon would not commit to saying it will be in the majors. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys ChinaCheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- South African prosecutors pressing a murder charge against Oscar Pistorius secured a meeting Thursday with Apple officials in the United States over accessing potentially crucial evidence on the double-amputee athletes locked iPhone, they said. Matt Paradis Jersey . Pistorius claimed he forgot the password for the cellphone, one of a number found at his upscale villa after he shot dead girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp Feb. 14, 2013. Investigators have been seeking help from Apple through the F.B.I. since last year to get access to the phone, a spokesman for South Africas National Prosecuting Authority said. Investigators from South Africa would now meet with Apple officials Thursday at the tech giants headquarters in California, spokesman Nathi Mncube said. Pistorius trial starts Monday, giving both prosecutors and Pistorius defence team just four days to analyze any information on the iPhone. Prosecutors would be obliged to also give any evidence they find to Pistorius lawyers. "It can only add on the evidence we already have," Mncube said in an interview with TV station eNCA. "It cannot be prejudicial to our case. The people concerned, should the evidence be favourable to us, are the defence. Then we have a responsibility to make it available to them as soon as we have it so they can also prepare for the trial." Mncube also confirmed the meeting and the reason behind it separately to The Associated Press after his telephone interview with eNCA. The prosecution maintains that Pistorius had a fight with Steenkamp before killing her, a cornerstone of its case, and information on the Olympians phone may shed light on events before the pre-dawn shooting last Valentines Day. Pistorius says he shot the model and reality TV star after mistaking her for a dangerous intruder. South African prosecutors hope to have the information from the phone by late Thursday, Mncube said, adding that they would make any evidence from the phone available to Pistorius defence lawyers. He wouldnt comment on what prosecutors might be looking for on the phone. But even without access to Pistorius iPhone, Mncube said the state had enough evidence to support the premeditated murder charge. Court documents indicate prosecutors are expected to build much of their case against the world-famous runner on witnesses who the state claims will testify to hearing a woman in Pistorius house screaming before the sound of gunshots. That suggests a fight and contradicts Pistorius version of events. Prosecutors also will likely try to use the trajectory of the bullets from the four shots fired by Pistorius through a toilet door to show he intended to kill Steenkamp and was not fearful and acting in self-defence. "We are very confident that we have sufficient evidence," prosecution spokesman Mncube said. "And that the evidence we have already will be more than sufficient to secure us hopefully a conviction in this matter." Prosecutors are seeking a life sentence for Pistorius should he be convicted of murder in Steenkamps killing, meaning he would have to serve at least 25 years in prison before being eligible for parole. There is no death penalty in South Africa. Riley Dixon Jersey .  City has reached new heights under manager Manuel Pellegrini as they transition from big spending/immediate impact to perennial contender.  Yaya Toures seeming discontent Tuesday may complicate that, as does the little issue of Financial Fair Play. Domata Peko Jersey . TSN Hockey Insiders Pierre LeBrun and Bob McKenzie both reported Thursday that there have been ongoing trade discussions between the Oilers and Los Angeles Kings over forward Sam Gagner.PHILADELPHIA -- Florida Panthers general manager Dale Tallon kept everyone guessing right up to his announcement to open Fridays NHL draft. "We proudly select, with the first pick overall of the 2014 NHL draft from the Ontario Hockey League," Tallon told a feisty full house at Wells Fargo Arena. And then he paused for dramatic effect. "Aaron Ekblad," Tallon finally pronounced. "I did not know. I was freaking out there for a second when he stopped," said Ekblad, a normally unflappable 18-year-old defenceman from Belle River, Ont., seen as perhaps the most NHL-ready player in the draft pool. "It was breath-taking to say the least." Said a straight-faced Tallon: "I thought we were in show-business. This is entertainment isnt it?" "I made Ekblad sweat a little," he added. With Kingston Frontenacs forward Sam Bennett ranked No. 1 ahead of Ekblad among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting, there was Ontario competition for the top pick. Bennett eventually went fourth to the Calgary Flames. Kootenay Ice centre Sam Reinhart went second to the Buffalo Sabres and Prince Albert Raiders forward Leon Draisaitl was selected third by the Edmonton Oilers. Draisaitl becomes the highest-drafted German-born player in NHL history. Previously that honour was held by Marcel Goc, taken 20th overall by San Jose in 2001. Tallon had two "really substantial" offers for his pick, but elected to stick with the big Barrie Colts blue-liner. "We decided at noon we were going to go this way," he said. Ekblad, who spent three seasons with the Colts, is seen as a potential franchise defenceman who is ahead of many of his fellow juniors in terms of size, strength and maturity. The teenager with Hollywood good looks feels he can help the Panthers in the fall. "Ive said that from the very beginning that I believe in myself and Im confident," he said. "I think if you dont believe in yourself and youre not confident, youre putting yourself behind the eight-ball right off the bat. I believe that if I work hard this summer, I can really step into the NHL next year. Obviously Im going to need a lot of help and its going to be a learning curve, but again Im confident in myself." The six-foot-three 216-pound Ekblad, granted exceptional player status by Hockey Canada to enter the OHL at just 15, had 23 goals, 30 assists and 91 penalty minutes in 58 games last season. Ekblad says he plays "strong responsible defence" while trying to contribute on offence. He is the 13th defenceman to go first overall in the draft and the first since 2006 when St. Louis took Erik Johnson. The Panthers (29-45-8) won the draft lottery ahead of Buffalo (21-51-10) to kick off the draft for the first time since 1994 when they selected defenceman Ed Jovanovski, now 38 and on his second stint in south Florida. Florida also won the draft lottery in 2002 and 2003, but traded away the pick both years. There was a run on blue-liners in the 90s with Roman Hamrlik (1992, Tampa Bay), Jovanovski (1994, Florida), Bryan Berard (1995, Ottawa) and Chris Phillips (1996, Ottawa) all going first overall. The Panthers will be hoping to repeat the success of Colorado last year with the first pick. Centre Nathan MacKinnon jumped directly to the NHL from the Halifax Mooseheads, winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as top rookie along the way. Steve Atwater Jersey. After Bennett, Oshawa Generals winger Michael Dal Colle went to the New York Islanders and Calgary Hitmen winger Jake Virtanen became a Vancouver Canuck. Red Deer defenceman Haydn Fleury was chosen seventh overall by the Carolina Hurricanes, ahead of Modo forward William Nylander (Toronto), Halifax winger Nikolaj Ehlers (Winnipeg) and Peterborough winger Nick Ritchie (Anaheim in a pick obtained earlier from Ottawa). Ehlers becomes the second-highest drafted Danish-born player in NHL history after Mikkel Boedker, picked eighth overall by Phoenix in 2008. The Canucks selected Sault Ste. Marie centre Jared McCann with the 24th overall pick and the Montreal Canadiens took Russian winger Nikita Scherbak of the Saskatoon Blades with the 26th selection. Ottawa did not have a first-round pick, having traded it to Anaheim in the Bobby Ryan deal. After Fridays first round, there will be six more rounds Saturday. Apart from Tallons cheeky delay at the mic, there were few other surprises. The top names all went high. Ekblad was ranked second among draft prospects by the International Scouting Services, which had Reinhart No. 1. Reinhart, an 18-year-old from North Vancouver, is seen as an elite playmaker with good skating and puck skills. The six-foot-one 185-pounder, named WHL player of the year in 2013-14, has true hockey bloodlines. Brother Max was selected by the Calgary Flames in the third round (63rd overall) in the 2010 draft, while brother Griffin was chosen fourth overall by the Islanders in 2012. Father Paul, a 12th-round draft pick of the Atlanta Flames in 1979, played 11 NHL seasons with the Flames and Canucks. The crowd at Wells Fargo Center started a "Lets Go Flyers" chant before the opening roll call of teams. Every other team was greeted with the word "Sucks" as their name was announced -- with the exception of Pittsburgh and Boston, who drew deafening boos. Comcast president Dave Scott, head of the company that owns the Flyers, congratulated the Los Angeles Kings on winning the Stanley Cup -- and defeating the rival Rangers in the final. The feisty crowd loved the kicker. Commissioner Gary Bettman was booed long and loud when he took the stage. "I love your passion," said the unflappable commissioner. The crowd kept booing and Bettman kept up the one-liners as the evening wore on. The Canucks stole much of the pre-draft thunder earlier Friday, sending centre Ryan Kesler to Anaheim and defenceman Jason Garrison to Tampa Bay while acquiring forward Derek Dorsett from the Rangers. For Ekblad, it was "by far the longest day of my entire life." But it ended well. He is the sixth OHL player drafted No. 1 overall in the last eight years, following in the footsteps of Patrick Kane, Steve Stamkos, John Tavares, Taylor Hall and Nail Yakupov. NOTES: The 30 players selected in the first round were born in 10 different countries: Canada (14), United States (five), Czech Republic (two), Finland (two), Russia (two), Denmark (one), England (one), Germany (one), Sweden (one) and Switzerland (one) ... Eight of the first 10 overall picks, including all of the first seven, came from the Ontario Hockey League or Western Hockey League. Ehlers (ninth overall) was the only one from the QMJHL. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Kansas State and UCLA each ended their seasons with disappointing losses to knock them out of college football’s top-10. Albert Pujols Jersey . The two teams will have a chance to rebound and end their once promising seasons with a win in the Alamo Bowl on January 1. Despite having two loses on their resume, Kansas State remained in the discussion for the College Football Playoff in December with a game against sixth-ranked Baylor looming. However, the ninth-ranked Wildcats were unable to keep up with Baylor’s high-powered offence and dropped to 0-3 on the season against top-10 ranked teams. UCLA also remained in the College Football Playoff debate despite also having two losses and sat just one win away from reaching the Pac-12 Championship and a rematch against Oregon. Stunningly, the heavily-favoured Bruins were held to just 162 yards passing and routed 31-10 by six-win Stanford. The loss gave Arizona a spot in the Pac-12 Championship as the South division representative and erased UCLA’s hopes of reaching the four-team playoff. To make matters worse for UCLA, star quarterback Brett Hundley injured a finger on his throwing in his the loss, putting his bowl availability in jeopardy. With over a month to heal, Hundley is expected to play against Kansas State in what will likely be his final game as Bruin. The redshirt junior quarterback entered the year with Heisman expectations and, though he fell short of being a finalist, the signal caller put together a solid season. Hundley finished the year with 21 touchdowns and five interceptions passing, while he rushed for another eight scores. With NFL scouts watching closely, Hundley will hope to rebound from his worst start of the season against Kansas State’s susceptible pass defence – which allowed 412 yards to Bryce Petty and Baylor. Like UCLA, Kansas State’s offence also relies on a passing attack, led by senior quarterback Jake Waters. Waters threw for over 200 yards in every game this season and finished with 3,163 yards and 20 touchdowns to six interceptions. Like Hundley, Waters also presents a rushing risk for opposing defences. Waters crossed the 100-yard mark rushing twice this season; burning Iowa State for 138 yards in September and running for 105 yards against Texas Tech. Waters will look to target fellow senior Tyler Lockett early and often against the Bruins 82nd-ranked pass defence. Lockett led the Wildcats receivers with 93 receptions, 1,351 yards and nine touchdowns this season. He posted 196 receiving yards in a game twice this season, in Kansas State’s 41-20 loss to TCU and again in their win over West Virginia. For Kansas State, the Alamo Bowl offers the opportunity to prove the team can rise to the occasion in big games. Losses to their lone SEC-opponent in Auburn and to big Big 12 rivals TCU and Baylor relegated the team to outside the top-10. Their lone win over a ranked team came in mid-October over No. 11 Oklahoma. Waters completed 15 of his 23 pass attempts for 225 yards and two touchdowns without an interception as Kansas State won 31-30, will the help of a blocked extra point in the fourth quarter. UCLA, meanwhile, will try to rebound from their embarrassing upset loss to Stanford and early ending to their season. UCLA only suffered one loss to a ranked team – to No. 12 Oregon on Oct. 11 – but suffered two losses to unranked teams. With a win, the Bruins can put together back-to-back 10-win seasons for just third time in school history. Kansas State, in Waters and Lockett’s final game, will be not be short of motivation as they hope to stay in the conversation of the Big 12’s top teams, behind TCU and Baylor. The two teams are hard to separate on paper, with a spread of two points or less favouring UCLA. If Hundley can put together a signature effort in the game coach Jim Mora said would be his last, then UCLA should take the bowl. However, Kansas State has been more the consistent team throughout the season, falling only to top-six teams. If UCLA fails to bring their full effort, as they did against Stanford, the Wildcats should be able to take advantage. Eye on Sunday QB Brett Hundley, UCLA Hundley has been a polarizing figure in the NFL draft community since before the season. Initially considered an early first-round pick, Hundley has slipped back on draft boards and even out of the first round on some. The Alamo Bowl will present a major stage for Hundley to prove why he deserves to be in the conversation with Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota as the top draft-eligible quarterback, or why he doesn’t. WR Tyler Lockett, Kansas State Lockett had a terrific season for Kansas State and, for that matter, a terrific career. At 5’11, Lockett hardly boasts ideal size, but his production is undeniable. Lockett broke Kansas State records for career receptions, yards and touchdowns this season, which were all marks formerly held by his father, Kevin. He was also named a second-team All-American for his efforts this season and should be drafted in 2015. LB Eric Kendricks, UCLA Kendricks was awarded the Dick Butkus Award as college football’s most outstanding linebacker in 2014. Every player to win the award since 2005 has been drafted in the first two rounds, including four top-10 picks. Kendricks posted a career-high 96 solo tackles in 2014 and holds the NCAA record for career tackles. After adding three interceptions and two touchdowns to his résumé this season, expect Kendricks to be heavily involved against the Kansas State offence. Andrew Heaney Jersey . -- New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft wanted to keep Logan Mankins with the team for a long time. Bud Norris Jersey .com) - The New York Islanders will try to solve their issues against Central Division opponents when they visit the Minnesota Wild for Tuesdays battle at Xcel Energy Center.
